We are concerned about the new legal definition of 'sex' as 'biological' being taken to mean 'binary'; this is anti-scientific. This sets a worrying precedent, is likely to lead to psychological harm, injustice and abuse. We urge the government to revisit this immediately.

21 countries around the world allow trans people to self-ID, choosing autonomy and dignity over what is often a humiliating and distressing process. The UK has the opportunity to join them, instead of falling further behind. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

In 2019, the UK was 3rd place on @ilgaeurope.bsky.social's Rainbow Map of LGBTQ+ rights. Now, it has dropped to 15th place. And that's not just from other countries overtaking - in the last 10 years, the UK's score has plummeted from 86% to 51.88%.
