My experience with this nonsense: I worked at an Embassy Suites, a Hilton brand, but the hotel itself was owned by a company named FelCor. Dude walks in one night to get a room. Sees the FelCor sign and asks, "Is that a French company?" "Oui oui." I got cussed out by an old man for that one. 😂🥖🍟

I bought this sign a few years later at the going out of business sale of a locally owned restaurant in, I think, North Haven CT.
