Migritude by Shailja Patel. The cover art is a cropped photo of two people with dark skin. It appears to me it's a women wearing a sleaveless shift of patterned cloth holding a child who is probably 6 or 7. No clothing is visible on the child. Their arms in embrace form an X centered in the image with the title and author superimposed. Just above the title is a patterened paisley figure.

What Is Art For? by Ellen Dissanayake. A black cover with author and titile in white. The cover image is a Fauvist painting depicting eight figures. Three of the figures are sitting togethe and there is a fourth reclining whiose size is much smaller. A figure is reaching to grasp something in hand. Another seems to be sitting in water with a hand to head. Two figures stand closely together in a cave or dark area. I think I see a cat in the picture. The vegetation and setting are dream-like.
