Reddit announced they are winding down RSS feeds: "Because RSS is now a common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse, we’ll stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026 while preserving moderation workflows that depend on it through supported alternatives." Just another silo.

Black Threads is now an official community. But, Meta *allowed* them to have it. Meta *owns* the community. @rude1.blacksky.team + @blackskyweb.xyz built w/o permission from @bsky.app. It's owned by the community, not a multi-trillion dollar corp run by a billionaire CEO who can't be fired. 1/
Trending: Threads has launched an official Black Threads community with custom features for its members. When a member likes a post within the group, a black heart icon appears instead of the standard red one. The community has grown to nearly 100,000 members, with some users noting they were automatically enrolled.

With trust under pressure from AI-generated content and misinformation, a proof of concept shows how claims can be linked to verified sources, so readers can check what was said and who said it.

News organisations deserve better than platforms which exploit them. We're helping news organisations, both big and small, take back control of their presence on the internet. How do you think news organisations should regain their digital agency? #LocalNews
A written statement on a black background, reading:

Platforms control the relationship between journalists, publishers and their audiences.

Political algorithms decide reach. Policies decide who gets paid. Communities vanish when platforms pivot.

The promise of independence built the internet, but we gave away the keys.

We’re helping organisations take them back.

This is the ultimate test of AGENCY. If you can't leave, you're not free. Ideally no single platform you publish to should sink your whole business if you had to leave it.
