5000 gallons of diesel leaked from an Equinix data centre in New Jersey, polluting the Hackensack River. The same developer has plans for a 400MW facility next to South Mimms services in Hertfordshire, which includes plans for 137 diesel backup generators. The site is near six Local Wildlife Sites.

The sabs also state that Spencer’s wife and son are subscribers to the Hampshire Hunt. Spencer is known for his love of ‘field sports’. In 2011, he was filmed posing with a dead deer. He said he was "chuffed to bits" to kill the animal. He is also a staunch supporter of the Countryside Alliance.

Surrey Hunt Saboteurs filmed Spencer as he turned up in his Land Rover at Hampshire Hunt’s meet at Cheriton Wood this week. According to the sabs, to avoid being filmed, Spencer left the meet in the boot of a car, while another person drove his Land Rover away.

Plaid Cymru voted directly in favour of a Senedd motion tabled by Reform, demanding a badger cull in Wales. The model being considered is a direct iteration of the failed badger cull implemented by David Cameron in England. An announcement on the fate of Wales’ badgers is expected imminently.

FOI research by campaigners in Devon has uncovered that Xlinks applied fo9r an AI Growth at its planned Torrington site, which would allow it to bypass parts of the planning process. Campaigners have raised the alarm over effects on wildlife like skylarks in the area.

The BBC reported that more than 1100 people objected to the building of Spring Park data centre in Corsham, Wiltshire. They came after Natural England objected due to the site's "high value for bats", including rare horseshoe, Bechstein's and barbestelle bats. Wiltshire Council approved it anyway.

The is heartbreaking. Wild bird populations in the UK have fallen to their lowest recorded levels. Farmland bird numbers dropped by 63% and seabird populations fell by over a fifth in the span of five years. The reasons? Intensive farming, avian flu outbreaks and habitat loss.
