There were 10 YHTs daily between Ankara and Konya in 2017. Now only 6. 17 YHTs between Istanbul an Ankara in 2019. Now 14. They managed to do in less than 10 years what SNCF did in 20 years!!

Frequencies are already declining all over: In 2021 (Istanbul-Ankara, Ankara-Konya) then in 2024 (Ankara-Konya) and 2026 again (Istanbul-Konya)

With occupancy rates worse than in France right now (90%+) they should'nt cut services but from what I know of TCDD nothing is guaranteed. Fare increases are absolutely guaranteed; in fact, YHTs have been more expensive than Pegasus flights for the last 1-2 years.

SNCF will cancel a LOT of TGVs in 2027... Early and late TGVs from Dijon-Besançon-Montpellier-Grenoble-Brest, Lille-Bordeaux However, I should add that: for this Strasbourg-Lyon this is something I discovered completely by chance, and it's not something I've been able to verify yet...

Unless something is done about user charges, I don't think another new operator besides Velvet will emerge anytime soon. Even Trenitalia plans to scale down its domestic offer in France (Paris-Lyon-Marseille) in order to prioritize Paris-London and maybe Paris-Bruxelles-Amsterdam

It's impossible for any Railcard like Carte Avantage to be valid on Velvet. SNCF would never allow it. Price-wise I think it will be at the same range with TGV inOui.

SNCF's response to rising competition is very terrible. It's either geared towards top-tier business travelers (Business Premiere) or it's further worsening the conditions for average travelers (Ouigo). They really geared up the segmentation...
