In 🇹🇷, I can catch a flight from Istanbul at 23:50 and return to Izmir. Or vice versa. Between all major cities it's like that Can you do this with TGV in France? NO! Those who call SNCF an "airline wannabe" To say that about SNCF is an unnecessary insult to some airlines.

I just read your bulletin and writing that on an ICNG train, I can confirm that new trains don't necessarily mean good trains. Unfortunately, the interior of those trains are nothing like the Intercity; even most non-Corail TER trains in France are much more comfortable. @jonworth.eu

Today is cross border rail day for me... Strasbourg-Amsterdam (through TGV to Bruxelles then Eurocity Direct to Amsterdam) A shame that Trainline don't offer this itinerary. It was showing expensive connections either via Paris or complex (and also expensive) ones via Germany...

"Le Train" signed an agreement with SNCF Réseau to operate on Paris-Rennes and Paris-Bordeaux routes. It's interesting that an operator who announced they would run regional lines that don't serve Paris would do this. @pglux.bsky.social @jonworth.eu

Interesting communication from Sud Rail - SNCF will GIVE AWAY some of its paths to Velvet (it's officialised) -Inoui employees are being being placed to OUIGO or TER. -And they will cancel 2 direct Lille-Bordeaux TGVs by 2027 (they are none other !!) @pglux.bsky.social

For example, on TCDD trains, you only need to show your ID during ticket control. You don't need your ticket. Although many people praise this as a convenience, but they're too stupid and naive to understand what it actually means. Big brother is watching you !!

In Turkey, it is mandatory to enter your national identity number when purchasing any bus, plane, or train ticket. Your journey is recorded on your identity card, and law enforcement agencies can easily have all this infos in their systems.
