Wonderful film. And shot in the beautiful village of Cwm Penmachno, where my old school has a field centre.

No, they have it a few seconds later after the priest gives a short prayer in between

After he rang off I checked their website and found that of their eight events listed, I or my band already did three of them for free, and sponsored a fourth. But it hasn't rankled, oh no, not for 20 or more years...

I once turned down a band gig with no budget. The organiser (from a certain Town Council) was most displeased and got a fellow councillor to ring me back, pleading that they did their work for free. (ctd)

Best line of the night. Even with the return of Portillo.

Yes, I don't think it ran in the UK. I've heard of Blondie, and I see there have been quite a lot of films, but the comic strip doesn't seem familiar at all.

Ah! (light bulb goes pop) I knew what Dagwood sandwiches were as a youngster, as my Dad talked about them. No idea where he came across them - yes he was in the RAF but it was the super-exciting accountancy branch

Did it say "A smell of petroleum prevails throughout"?

LLM also stands for Licensed Lay Ministers, formerly known as Lay Readers.

A surprisingly interesting, informative and enjoyable museum. Loved the wartime exhibits. I can't understand why some people are so sniffy about it.

I'm one of those unusual people who couldn't stand Terry Wogan. I really enjoy Craig Charles' radio shows though.

Nor have I. Surely that's where you write the *return* address (if you're going to add one)?

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

Voters in Makerfield might care to remember that after a woman called for immigrants to be burned alive in their homes two years ago, Nigel Farage gave her a platform at his party conference.

Absolutely. The first ever football game I remember was Portugal v North Korea, 1966. Loved the minor matches in previous World Cups (Germany v Costa Rica, 2006, comes to mind). This year - can't be bothered.

Yep, Monday 14 April 2025. The relevant Corrie, Chess Masters and Radio 4 Book at Bedtime (ep 1 of One Came Back by Rose McDonagh, not shown in this screenshot) were all on that date.

Certainly not the right year - Coronation Street is a dead giveaway, the last time they had a 1 hour show at 8pm was in early January.

Peterborough has lots of lamppost flags, I'm afraid, but Reform have fewer councillors than any other party - even after yesterday's elections. There's a grain of hope in that.

Just heard self-centred hypocrite Nigel Farage on BBC News say that no British politician has been physically attacked more than him. An insult to the memory of Jo Cox and David Amess, both murdered.
