Syrian asylum seekers in limbo as countries stop applications So, my first refugee law post. Regardless of the status accorded by govts previously to Syrians, if they qualify as refugees, cessation must be agreed with @unhcr.org who provide international protection. Otherwise it could be refoulement

From someone with skin in the game, yes there’s the shortfall and there will be a Voluntary Severance Scheme (agreed with Unions) for the 200, but a little further on the Q&A says study leave is protected & promotions to be restored. And the management are academics. Teaching & Research excellence
