My pet theory for GOP success the past decade is questionably ethical datamining and social media targeting. We don't have a shared reality, MAGA lives in their own curated universe being manipulated by sophisticated algorithms. Think Brad Parscale. Don't know if it can beat Iran and gas prices.

The CNBC crowd thinks AI will soon take all the management jobs, since it can do all the white collar tasks managers do. We should be so lucky. Certainly some management jobs may be automated and done by AI, but most of those jobs exist to maintain class/tribal hierarchy in corporate organizations.

Tech bros say AI is more consequential than the Industrial Revolution—that’s absurd. The internet, television, cell phones, smartphones are all far more important. AI is just an app, a way to make computers more useful. Only if AI becomes a new super intelligent being(s) could it be so important.

What's to stop Trump from escalating even further now? Maybe the November elections? But even he must see that's a lost cause at this point. Iran's success causing economic pain necessitates Trump either completely giving up and withdrawing or removes disincentives to dramatic escalation.

I have no idea if US elections will be rigged. My guess is that Trump is so unpopular he won’t be able to prevent Dems taking the House, but, I could be wrong, and US may be too far gone the fascist path where elections are just stage managed to give the impression of legitimacy.

So Trump leads his people in an oath to cheat in the upcoming elections and people just ignore it as if it doesn’t matter. States run the elections, and the people running many of the elections are the same people that took that oath to cheat for Trump and the GOP. Seems problematic.

When elections lose legitimacy there seem only two possibilities: 1. Political suppression by an authoritarian government (see Russia for example), or 2. Mass upheaval, often revolutionary. Really hoping for everyone’s sake that Dem blue wave leads to massive repudiation of Trump MAGA.

This news about the Houthis taking the Bab al-Mandab Strait seems very significant. Think US has reopen the Red Sea or completely lose the Iran War. Situation is already much worse than when the war started. As it stands, Iran can halt most all of mideast oil at will. Not great.

SiriusXM is the the last real radio outside of college radio. DJ picking songs is a format that's not real in commercial radio any longer (Tom Petty as right with The Last DJ) it's all scripted and programmed (increasingly by AI). Hope Sirius isn't/doesn't move to AI DJ's. Sad day if they did.

At some point Apple absolutely f’d me by just deleting like half my music. At some point I gassed ripped it all and they switched the real files with standard “matching” tracks, except they didn’t have them all, and many they subbed for alt versions. Then they prob lost some too.
