found an alpaca while out hiking, picture taken while I myself was perched inside a particularly spiky bush.. #hiking #alpaca

a black furred alpaca staring at the camera, with two blades of grass in its mouth, towards a background of green farm fields and a fence

me standing inside a spiky bush next to a tree with my back to the person taking the picture, holding a camera and trying to photograph an alpaca while being pierced by spikes from the hostile flora

taken while hiking from Wengen towards Burglauenen (Switzerland), with the valley Lauterbrunnen sits in (supposedly Tolkien's inspiration for Rivendell!) visible! #hiking

published a little C# implementation of the www.mattkeeter.com/projects/prospero challenge here: github.com/profan/Sharpero was fun mucking around with C# SIMD and DynamicMethod/IL Emit stuff, turns out the IL Emit stuff is not fast, but if you run the thing enough times it is […]

lukewarm take: ECS as a concept is more interesting framed as a way to think about and organise modular gameplay logic than the usual primary arguments for it which boil down to "good because memory together fast" you can have an ECS with none of the usual performance benefits and still reap […]

more progress, made selection outlines around units a combined blobby SDF (using structured buffers), combining the movement arrows into the same shader now as well also made the movement generally less jittery/frantic overall, feels nicer now 👀 #gamedev

finessed my s&box thing a little bit, formations are kind of a thing now, and they enter this sort of defensive stance when stopping 👀

went for a little ~14km #hike with friends today around the area here, the weather was wonderful

a reddish brown dirt path leading through a forest hillside with tall coniferous trees dotting the landscape with a mostly clear blue sky in the background

a footpath leading through a light green canopy of trees, with a fenced off farm area to the side for keeping animals

a tall lonely tree in the middle of a field reminiscent of savannah with tall grass and not much else, the tree looks a bit droopy

all your half-finished projects are still experience that contributes directly to your skills and confidence. the dozen half-finished projects are the seeds of the finished one that you could never have handled a decade ago.
