It's been 1.5 years since I said we would revisit 2008. Well, every day, those predictions seem to become more and more true.

So AI which is propping up the stock market and the economy, however not profitable as of yet, now Microsoft will limit usage? I see a lot of angles to this🤔

Here's the follow up video on why I lost 60 points on my credit score 🤔

Poof! 60 Points gone from my credit score. The credit score system wasn't designed to protect you. It's designed to protect creditors! #bankruptcyblog

Commercial mortgage office delinquencies have reached 12.2%, worse than in 2008 and the Great Recession. This is the 2nd-highest level in history. The worst? January at 12.3%. Source: Trepp. #bankruptcyblog

It can't be 2 things at once! Debt is at an all time high and the economy is hanging by an AI thread.

My position has been that banks learned their lessons from 2008. During Covid, we saw flexibility in payments, exactly what wasn't done in 2008. So I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that housing is unaffordable as well as everything else.

AI Data Centers = NIMBY. The Big Beautiful Bill decimated the solar industry so what happens when we don't have enough power?

I'm working today on the bankruptcy courts in Puerto Rico. Look at the hours the courthouse is open + 1 hour for lunch!!! Imagine getting home early enough to relax, instead of rushing dinner, homework, etc... 9-5 was always a bad deal, especially with travel time; it's usually 8 am - 6 p.m.

The Washington Post article states that there isn't enough power generated to handle the AI data centers over the next couple of years. Now you see the importance of the Big Beautiful Bill that all but decimated the solar panel industry.

If tourism cities and states are leading in foreclosures bc tourism dried up, how does taxing Canadians with homes in Florida make up for hundreds of millions of dollars lost? It's simple: they sell and buy elsewhere. #Canada #floridarealestate #bankruptcyblog

Nothing efficient about applying for a job.

Prof.Alex @profalex.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
We tend to think of fuel prices and inflation with necessities such as groceries, but everything is connected. Even if date night is at home, that means a business loss revenue. Employees earn less, maybe even laid off. It spreads through the entire economy.

Prof.Alex @profalex.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Congress is already late to the AI game by not taxing it, and the loss of tax revenue from replacing people will be devastating. But it's an issue; as I've said before, the entire Tax Revenue Code has to be updated.

3 weeks ago I traded my F250 for a Nissan Frontier. My tool box doesn't fit under the seat, so in a rush I left my tool box in the living room. 3 weeks later my cats knock each other off the box. I gave up. Put a rug on the box and wait them out.

Exemptions, in part, determine whether you are filing Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy. In today's article, I review the exemptions for Pennsylvania, which are minimal, which means you will likely have to choose the federal exemptions. Full article below in the comments! #Pennsylvania #bankruptcyblog

If you look at tourism cities/states, there's an increase in bankruptcy/foreclosures. For example, Las Vegas, Florida, and South Carolina. More than a year ago, I said this would result in billions being siphoned out of the economy, plus international students going elsewhere. #bankruptcyblog

It doesn't matter which district I'm researching; bankruptcy filings have increased every single year. Since filing for bankruptcy is the last resort, it is a lagging indicator, which means the numbers will continue to rise. These are the statistics for the Harrisburg/Wilkes-Barre Division in PA.
