About 6 weeks ago, I pulled a skinny sickly kitten that somebody had dumped at one of our colony cat sites, and brought him to the Humane Society. Look at him today! After intensive TLC in a foster home, Mr. Toodles is ready for adoption.

We got in 2 1/4 miles at The Strand, the new part of the Parklands that connects Pope Lick to (I think) Turkey Run in Louisville. Trail was super-easy, but it was HOT, heat index 100F. #warriornun #nunsrantheworld

Day 3 of staycation started w/a panicked run to the urgent care vet for The Uncreatively-Named Babycat, who was vomiting, lethargic & not eating. After anti-nausea meds & fluids, he is much better & requested lunch shortly after returning home.

A one-eyed white cat with a gray patch on his back, grey ears & top of head sits in a low-sided box. His blood work & x-rays were unremarkable. Will take my old man to my vet for follow-up when they reopen next week.

Tuesday’s day 2 of staycation, pt 2- Cove Springs in Frankfort. We’re in the driest part of summer, so alot of the creek was low or dry. Neither of us was motivated to do more than 1.25 mi in the heat & humidity. #warriornun #nunsrantheworld

The waterfall that greets visitors in the parking lot. It’s surrounded by trees and other greenery. A rock pool is at the bottom on the approach of fence cuts off access to the pool in the waterfall.

The creek runs past a cliff wall. The cliff wall is sporadically covered by moss and some plants growing out of it. My friend is teeny tiny, but standing in the distance beside the wall.

A slipper-like? yellow jewel-weed flower hangs from the end of the plant. A a second flower hangs to the upper right of the first.

The same yellow jewel-weed flower hangs from the end of the plant, but is now inhabited by a bumblebee, which is about to crawl deep into the flower.

Day 1 of staycation. Ran some errands, went to my barber for a haircut. When I came out, a train! My car was parked on the other side, so took a walk around downtown LaGrange. Once home: 1st try at portobella pizza in the airfryer. Tomorrow: I frolic with butterflies! #warriornun #nunsrantheworld

It’s her breakfast now (look under the spoon).

Attn Oldham residents! Although magistrates voted to bring in experts to help draft data center zoning regs, our Judge Exec seems to ignore that vote. If you oppose hyperscale data centers being placed outside heavy duty industrial areas I strongly recommend you come to this meeting.
