No cheating. Share the last photo of the sky from your camera roll … I don’t think I took this one.
It’s from Minecraft, I don’t know what else to say. The green texture is grass, the blue is sky, there’s a weird window maybe that’s floating on the middle of the screen — it looks like three wood pallets — and above that is, I don’t know, it looks like a computer chip after I’ve stepped on it a few times. If I asked my kid what’s happening here I’d get a totally different description, I’m sure.

A graphic with a torn paper background in purple and white, displaying the large text “HELP US CORRECT MISINFORMATION” in bold white and yellow letters. Below it, there’s a screenshot of a tweet from that reads, “As Trump shuts down the suicide hotline, Canada has broadcasted their national hotline which now has a toll-free American version: 1-877-330-6366.” A red “FALSE” stamp is placed over the tweet. In the bottom right corner, there’s a megaphone graphic emitting yellow sound lines, and white and yellow X marks decorate the background.A purple graphic with the Trans Lifeline logo at the top. Below the logo, yellow handwritten-style text says, “If you are trans and seeking support, you are welcome to call Trans Lifeline.” Underneath, white bold text lists the phone numbers: “US: (877) 565-8860” and “CAN (877) 330-6366.” Yellow X marks are scattered around the edges of the image for decoration.]

The city wants to put a pedestrian bridge across the Linc linking McQueston Park to Limeridge mall — that’s cool, great idea, but branding it a gateway feature “to let people know "they've entered Hamilton”? Where do they think the city begins? 😂 #hamont www.thespec.com/news/hamilto...
But the "premise" of the project — and the funding — provide a "huge opportunity" to create a sense of place, character and gateway feature to the city, Salvucci said.

The "highly visible" feature could serve to let people know "they've entered Hamilton," she added.

Highlights from a very long but very interesting FB post about the vast size of the Canadian boreal forest. I knew it was big but I didn’t appreciate how big. You can read the whole entire thing at: www.facebook.com/share/p/14fM...
From Hudson Valley Weather Facebook page…

Canada's boreal forest: ~1.3 billion acres (about 520 million hectares or 2 million square miles). It stretches from the Yukon to Newfoundland in an almost continuous belt.

Largest U.S. forest (Tongass National Forest, Alaska): 16.7 million acres.

Largest forest in the contiguous U.S. (Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest): about 6.3 million acres.

A AIl U.S. National Forests combined: about 193From Hudson Valley Weather Facebook post…

Canada's boreal forest is roughly 78 times larger than the Tongass, the largest forest in the United States.

It's roughly 7 times larger than all 154 U.S.
National Forests combined.

It represents one of the largest intact forest ecosystems left on Earth, with vast areas that have no roads and are inaccessible except by aircraft or winter roads.

Less than 9% of Canada's population lives within this region, and less than 1% of the boreal forest itself is developed.

Most of the boreal is remote, roadless, and inaccessible, making large-scale forest management and wildfire suppression fundamentally different from managing forests near populated areas in the U.S.

In ecosystems like the boreal forest, wildfire is one of nature's primary management tools and has shaped these forests for thousands of years. While forest management absolutely has an important role near communities, roads, and other developed areas, applying that approach across more than a billion acres of largely roadless wilderness simply isn’t practical.

It frustrates me that different cities have different rules. Shouldn’t driving laws be standardized?
From toronto.ca website: BIKE BOX
Bike boxes are used at intersections to designate a space for cyclists to wait in front of cars at the red light. At red lights, the drivers must stop at the stop line, behind the bike box. A bike box means right hand turns on red lights are not permitted. From hamilton.ca website: If turns are permitted "on red" at the intersection, you may advance into the bike box to make a turn if the bike box is not
occupied by a cyclist.

Where to start. OK Trump is in the middle. Wearing Jesus robes. He’s got a glowing orb in his hand and he’s healing a sick man in front of him. The sick man is in a hospital bed, and around him are a nurse, a military guy, some people praying. I was suspended from BlueSky for defending the honor of Johnny Cash.

I wish I were joking.

In early October, I referenced the "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" lyric of "Folsom Prison Blues" in response to a terrible Wall Street Journal article saying that Johnny Cash was uncool. I quote-tweeted the article and everyone understood the reference. There was no outcry.

I stand by my assessment that Johnny Cash is cool.

I do not like being the subject of so much attention, especially when I cannot see the discussion. But the BlueSky admins are now claiming that I wrote a post saying, out of nowhere, "I want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die". They are not posting a screenshot of the actual tweet, which shows that I am quote-tweeting an article about Johnny Cash, and that my post is obviously not a threat but a play on "Folsom Prison Blues."
