I normally make sets before I glue them down but I just needed some nails on, so I painted a plain gold cat eye with a pink shift. As the week has gone on I've been trying out different designs & techniques. The 3d charms are ones I've been making myself with silicone molds. I'm pretty happy overall

The grove at the former Clements State Tree Nursery in West Columbia is described by conservation advocates and American Chestnut Foundation materials as having been planted from wild surviving specimens. Think of it as the ecological equivalent of a seed vault that nobody put a sign on. Advocacy sources say the trees carry genetic material that restoration programs across West Virginia depend on, though that role needs independent verification from the Foundation, the West Virginia Division of Forestry, or a qualified botanist.

The American Chestnut Foundation has circulated appeals to state officials about the grove’s potential destruction. The approximately 200-tree count, the 1970s planting date, and the trees’ wild provenance all come from advocacy materials rather than a verified nursery record or agency report. What advocates describe, if accurate, is not scenery. It is what they characterize as irreplaceable restoration infrastructure.

I have a Bed Jet that normally I use when it's hot but my dog had so much trouble sleeping that I took it out from under the sheet last night so she could lay in front of it and it helped a lot, so now she just keeps going over and sitting in front of it so that I'll turn it on for her

Mv very first attempt at making 3d nail charms with solid gel and silicone molds! Not bad (I intentionally didn't do the feet). I mixed clear solid gel with black gel polish for the color and it's so hot that it got sticky and hard to work with, but it came out pretty good still

I was cleaning out the terrarium that several of the drosera that I have in my bedroom live in. They're doing amazing, so much so that this capensis clearly needs to be repotted because the roots are growing out of the bottom of the pot and it's making babies on them!

My new "low effort" artistic outlet is making custom nail sets and apparently I now wind down from the day by swatching all the new cat eye polishes I got and doing different effects and with different base colors and whatnot. I even made room on my vanity to also have it be a nail station

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is working with counties and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on measles exposures related to passenger who traveled by train and bus and was hospitalized.

What You Need to Know: An unvaccinated passenger who traveled across the United States on Amtrak, including through California, traveled by trains and thruway buses with transfers in at least six California counties (Alameda, Butte, Kern, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Joaquin). CDPH is working with federal partners and local health officials to notify people who may have been exposed. With this news, and with measles spreading in other parts of the United States and the world, CDPH urges Californians to ensure they are fully vaccinated against measles.

I noticed some of my lettuces & kale in my aerogardens were clearly being eaten by something but I couldn't find any pests on them. Then I saw this guy like 6 inches from my face who I didn't even notice! These are on a counter on the other side of my apartment from the outside so I'm pretty amused

This drosera was huge in May, got aphids, I didn't notice bc burnout & by the time I did it looked dead. I gave it a new place w/super ideal conditions & 2 weeks ago a green bulbous form burst forth! The monster returned from the dead! & looks grotesquely cool as it regains its old form Life lesson?

My lettuce harvest, 28 days in. I've just vbeen pulling lettuce off for the last ~2.5 weeks when I want to have a salad or whatever but the plants had gotten so big that they needed a real full harvest done or they were just going to stop growing.
