"We are not afraid of the darkness, we trust that the moon shall guide us." - Saul Williams She called me out for a walk last night in the wee hours. Beautiful evening 🙏 Sorry for the lens flaring, can't contain it all in this little phone box.

👍 I keep this quote on my wall
"How long before your attention span is spent?
Before you can only digest this news in small,
occasional doses? The invading forces calculate
their aggression in accordance to your exhaustion
and loss of interest. They depend on your short
attention span to achieve their long term goals.
They need you to get caught up in trivial
discussions, to feel that these things must simply
run their course, to feel that you have no power
to stop them, that it is out of your hands."

Tried to get our questions, concerns, asks, notes down as bullets so when our brains are swimming we can look at it. If anyone has done this before on the parent/patient, insurance, lab, or doctor end, any insight deeply appreciated. I did NOT write "MAHA can go fuck itself" as much as I wanted to.

Thanks for the reflection 🙏 I would have to dig deep in my notebooks and folders to find the more flushed out plan I drew up some years ago, but in a 10 minute or less drawing as I sit here, I imagine something like... (apologies for rough sketch and lack of alt-text, have to get back from lunch)

Sort of we've had to sit there in the crawlspace and hold a switch to pump water in to the cistern every couple of days at the speed of a slow garden hose. Gravity/siphon was busted. I don't think i can explain in words but here maybe this drawing will make sense 😂

Spending a little bit of time cleaning up my space as we close the windows up for fall. Here's a mid century sofa painting I inherited from my mom that's just been gathering dust in the corner. Like a lot of things that were incredibly meaningful to her, I have no real idea what to do with it.

I love crap apple season out here. There's probably 100 apple trees across a dozen old farm orchards (and some random.ones!) over the six or so miles between here and pavement. Hop out real quick and grab a random one. Might be the tartest thing you've ever bitten into or sweet as sugar.

This "debate" insists the only acceptable philosophic position is the one where your conclusion is valid & any other philosophic position is being mocked & dismissed. Good times. In any case, even in these "debate" rules, you're not actually in a plane cockpit thousands of feet above the ground.

Always complicated to talk about the depth & breadth of Project 2025 in brief conversations, so I've been trying to keep this 8.5x11 at-a-glance up to date with In Progress and Coming Soon items to drive conversations & so folks can take home & dig into it. Please dist/remix if useful for anyone ✌️

Feb 2010. I'm working for state government & broadly tasked with utilizing technology to reduce costs & improve service delivery via integration & automation. A political appointee mentions flippantly in a meeting "all jobs can be automated." I am up all night writing. I soon leave state government.
The Vermont Center for an Open, Informed and Sustainable Society

Introduction

I am proposing that we begin the process of automating the jobs of executive civic leadership, and potentially in the future eliminate the entire executive branches of state government, by creating an information system that ties together the collective knowledge and wisdom of the people.

This system will be built on the principle of simplicity, and will utilize existing technologies, and will in effect provide the leadership and strategic vision that the executive branch, and the office of the governorship itself, is intended to provide.

Guessing I might be the only person on here in the Vermont Orange-Caledonia District? 😬 Excited to vote for Aiden in November. He wasn't even old enough to vote himself in the primary! If elected, he will be the youngest person ever in the Vermont House. Everyone verified they are all set to vote?

We stacked wood three or four days ago and tonight this big slug crawled out on top of the stack. It must have spent the last few days navigating back and forth across layers of splits before emerging. Pretty sure if it could talk, we'd connect 😂 Wonder what it's name is 🤔

- Laplace, 1814 Essai philosophique sur les probabilités --- the foundational sales pitch of AI obsessed venture capitalists 😂
"We may regard the present state of the universe as the effect of its past and the cause of its future. An intellect which at a certain moment would know all forces that set nature in motion, and all positions of all items of which nature is composed, if this intellect were also vast enough to submit these data to analysis, it would embrace in a single formula the movements of the greatest bodies of the universe and those of the tiniest atom; for such an intellect nothing would be uncertain and the future just like the past would be present before its eyes."

Saunt Lora's Proposition is the proposition introduced by the monk Saunt Lora and believed by the Lorite order that every idea has already been thought of. Ironically, one of Saunt Lora's young avouts proved that the proposition itself had already been thought of.
