Apparently I’m a ring person. Wedding rings? Cute. Pretty rings? Yes please. Saturn’s rings? Gorgeous. Onion rings? Hell yeah. A Schatzki ring in my esophagus? Absolutely not. Some rings belong on fingers, not in my guts. I guess it’s my turn for medical procedures.

While I’m finding that writing my own music doesn’t come very naturally or easily for me, I have discovered that genre-bending while covering other people‘s music is something that I particularly enjoy. Someday, I hope to be confident enough to do it for an audience. 🤷🏻

My Rage Against the Machine/Les Mis mashup is complete. This is my interpretation of the quilt guild’s summer challenge “quilt with your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current ‘democracy’” all hand stitched.

Quilt hanging on a card catalog. Neutral background with navy cursive appliqué “Do you hear thr people sing?” The background is embroidered in red starting light and getting bolder the lyrics to “killing in the name” the quilting effect is a focused sunburst from the center.

My wedding ring had developed a loose prong that was snagging threads on fabric and even started pulling hairs, so it had to go to the jeweler. I got it back today and even though I don’t consider myself a big jewelry person, certain pieces make me feel whole. I guess I do like rings after all.

there are nights when loneliness isn’t loneliness at all it is the memory of being held in exactly the way your body prefers it is the ghost of someone’s warmth still living beneath your skin and suddenly the bed is too large, the night is too quiet, and sleep feels like an unnecessary cruelty
