"The sin of empathy" is a phrase I saw by one of these fascists that has stayed with me. In order to commit atrocities, you must eliminate empathy. You must dehumanize people to the point where empathy is impossible in order to get tacit assent by a population to commit mass violence and murder.

I will always and forever remember the statistic that trans youth with a supportive adult in their life are 100 times less likely to attempt suicide. In times like these it more so critical that we show up for young people and resist order like this which openly try to cut them off from support.
