Additionally, giving everyone some time to think about feedback can be helpful. Present the work, and then ask them for async feedback by a certain date. Hope this helps!

If possible, breaking sessions out into separate groups might also be valuable. Marketing may have different thoughts than Engineering.

Sometimes I find giving everybody some sticky notes to write out their feedback can be really helpful. Quiet time to share your thoughts so you don’t have to worry about sharing feedback with other people.

Agreed. And sometimes that’s the only way to show the system doesn’t work. And if a crashing system is acceptable, then now you know that it’s okay! If it’s not, then a different but equally valuable data point.

I’m in a similar boat. I hate to say it, but if you can, let things slip. If you keep trying to get all the work done, it just shows that there’s no need to hire. Let things fall through the cracks and keep flagging that you’re resource constrained.

I would also love any feedback from solo designers who feel like they’re being stretched to their limits. I’m definitely starting to snap a little and appreciate any and all advice (other than quitting loll)

I couldn’t sleep last night so I wrote another post of random thoughts including LoveFrom’s Ferrari Collab, Claude and GetShitDone, and some other things. pradyumank.com/blog/2026/2/15…

I can't sleep... Too many things floating through my brain so I figured I'd use this as a space to write some of them down. LoveFrom collab with Ferrari I really enjoyed this collaboration. The attention to detail and care was really nice to see again. It has a restraint and slight retro feel tha…

I really enjoyed this read through! I shared this with our internal AI teams and they found that incorporating GSD was a great idea, especially for a non-developer. I’ve started playing around with it and hope to use it more deeply in my professional work! Thank you!

A little obsessed with the analog - digital blend of LoveFrom’s collaboration with Ferrari. Hopefully this means a return of more physical buttons in the future of automotive interiors! www.ferrari.com/en-US/auto/fer…

I think the Music app is exceptionally egregious… Search within a playlist is at the top, but search across all of Apple Music is at the bottom. But you don’t see the playlist search unless you’re at the top of the playlist, and your brain think the visible search icon is what you should tap…

PK @pradyumank.bsky.social · 05/02/2026
Search feels like something that should happen at the top of the UI? It’s hierarchical, and so what I search propagates down. Anyone else feel this?

PK @pradyumank.bsky.social · 05/02/2026
One of things with iOS 26 that I’m still not getting used to is having search on the button of the screen (especially in the Music app). I keep trying to search from the top of the UI instead of the bottom, and a few months in, I’m not used to it…

And document everything - if you think a feature needs testing but people say no, them document that. And that way, if the feature fails, you can point to that as a way to de-risk work. Sometimes using language like de-risking can help too. No one wants risk in their work 😂

Maybe see if you can make a plan for it for future work? Add a day or two of buffer and have a customer or two lined up in advance, and how long it will take you to implement feedback. Try and work with the teams and let them know this will hell with AC and their stories.

Also ask engineers and devs how open they are to rework if they get it wrong loll I’ve found that’s a great forcing function. I don’t know if this is helpful?

Maybe start with something small here - a feature or a tiny moment of divergence. Highlighting the key workflow differences, and how no one at work knows the answer, and that a small moment of testing (15 minutes on a zoom call) with users can help provide clarity.

Physicality: the new age of UI
There’s a lot of rumors of a big impending UI redesign from Apple. Let’s imagine what’s (or what could be) next for the design of iPhones, Macs and iPads.

However, I am really curious how Apple handles accessibility with the Liquid Glass effect. I recall in the past that Apple's really tried to make things show throw in side navs, but had to increase the opacity to make text legible.

PK @pradyumank.bsky.social · 10/06/2025
I think my favorite part of the design film was when they showed someone from Apple physically moving a glass bubble over text to see how the text warped, and used that as inspiration for the magnifier within the system

I'm sure I'll have more thoughts on WWDC and the new Liquid Glass redesign, but on first pass... LOVE these monochrome icons!

All in all, really happy with these headphones! Did a quick test, and even my wife was excited about them! I’ll try working out with them tomorrow on an indoor ride and see how they fare (I have a feeling they’ll fare perfectly well. The real test will be an outdoor ride but it’s too cold for that)

Also really really REALLY happy Beats fixed the biggest problem… how the headphones sit in the charging case. Magnets are way stronger in v2 as compared to the originals

Makes me think that maybe the next medical device I work on should really be a primarily grayscale UI with color used sparingly for key interactions and focus areas. I’m also totally aware that a calculator app is not the same as a medical device, but I think this principle still translates.

PK @pradyumank.bsky.social · 05/12/2024
This makes me think of the Dieter Rams calculator he designed for Braun, that Apple used as their inspiration for their calculator app. This really embodies the idea of Less is More. Color is used sparingly for key interactions like the equal sign. Photo from Core77

UI controls are a specific color but using color to also suggest state of the system means that if everything has a color, it becomes hard for the user to discern where they can interact with the UI and where to focus.

PK @pradyumank.bsky.social · 05/12/2024
Just finished a client review of some mock-ups for a medical device. The client ultimately pushed for and chose a direction that incorporates a lot of color in the UI which is causing some usability issues.
