Interesting Researcher problem…the majority of respondents in a general population pool cannot hold attention for 7 minutes. This is vastly different from even 10 years ago.

Deploying AI in orgs at scale, are we trading speed for judgment? Explored this in my latest piece on how we reimagine tech fluency to protect human cognition. 🔗 practicallybeta.com/analytics-an...

#Data centers outbid public employers for trades, forcing infrastructure work into expensive contracts. Who pays? The public, through rates and taxes, including the very trades workers who built them, long after the job is done. The premium outlives the paycheck.

#Anthropic is in hot water with many of its users. I'm calling it watermark-gate. A bit of a paradox: push AI adoption and then punish AI use. Except I don't think the public is punishing its use. I think they are punishing the collapse of merit markers. #Claude

The labor shortage narrative is a distraction. Unemployment dropped to 4.1% because workers stopped looking, pushing participation to a 5-year low. Layered on the Great Stay, we aren't just seeing a temporary pause. The labor force is structurally shrinking while mobility remains frozen. #economy

The latest BLS monthly jobs data confirms the structural freeze of the Great Stay. Stalled hiring + voluntary quits plummeting = a generational reset on earning potential.

“Labor shortage” = perpetually underpaid roles. When will we bridge the gap before blaming grads and the existing workforce?
000
K. Palmer @practicallybeta.bsky.social · 14/07/2026
We are told workforce shortages are just about demographic shifts and skill mismatches. But if a shortage persists this long, basic labor economics tells us a much simpler truth: these workers have been systemically underpriced. This is a backpay crisis not simply a talent crisis.

OpenAI just released their newest models. Only…it’s partially released. Gone the way of Anthropic’s Fable and Mythos. Turns out the most powerful AIs won’t be “for the people”.

Are people distrustful of AI? Or the hands that AI is in? And can we ever close that gap? 🤔

The tech myth of accessibility has nothing to do with equity and everything to do with scaling, engagement, and embedded dependencies. The results of which are playing out realtime with Anthropic and OpenAI’s positioning on surveillance and weapons.

I’m sorry Anthropic’s Sonnet 4.6 is….not great. I’m not sure what the goal was. Maybe if all you do was code but it’s not going to be your thought partner especially not with the long conversation reminders back for some reason.

If @anthropic.com and OpenAI wants us to use #Claude and #ChatGPT in our workflows, they will need to provide stable platforms and more transparency. That being said Claude Sonnet 4.6 is very impressive today, helping me build a chart from my assessment with a lot of data.! 📈

Leadership truth: Your team doesn't trust your policy. They trust your panic. When things break, they aren't looking for answers—they're looking to see if it's safe to stay open. Your reaction is the real culture. Everything else is just a PDF. #Leadership #PsychologicalSafety

2026 is already starting off tough for U.S workers… UPs 30,000 layoffs Amazon 16,000 layoffs Dow 4,500 layoffs Home Depot 300 layoffs This is on top of the unprecedented layoffs in 2025. I anticipated this in my 2026 Insights. practicallybeta.com/site-map/tho...

on @anthropic.com CEO's commentary on wealth hoarding has me thinking... The personality traits we reward that enables accumulation of wealth by billionaires are incompatible with the moral obligation to redistribute, so billionaire philanthropy is always going to be the exception, not the rule.

LLMS in 2026 is already feeling like: less transparency, more throttling, UX < engagement metrics. Are we watching potential collapse under profit?

2026 is setting up to be another…interesting year. 2025 taught us that stability is the new currency. Companies are not planning to let up on lay offs and mostly have no plans to increase headcount. That means a tough job market will continue. #economy #joblessness

After looking at the Time magazine cover, all I can say is: People don’t care if #AI can advance healthcare if they can’t afford the doctor’s visit. If your goal is massive #unemployment, a broken workforce, decimated communities, and kids addicted to chatbots? Then you are innovating on ashes.

~75% of #GenZ say social media played a part in their mental health decline. We are on the cusp of seeing the same play out with #GenAlpha and AI. The time to act is now. 🚨 We need regulations to protect teens and kids from AI used for predatory engagement.

One of the best ways to shift to AI for the people is to have more than one voice in the room and remove tech money from the politics of humanity.

The more I talk to parents, teachers and caregivers about AI, the clearer it has become that AI has become its own echo chamber where the most affected has the least awareness. I’m going to be starting an exciting new resource initiative for adults on AI safety for kids. #AIEthics #AIandKids

As someone who works a lot on theories, frameworks, and predictive analytics. One of my favorite phrases from @anthropic.com's #Claude Opus is "I'm going to gently push back on that". YES, Claude, pushback! I don't need non-stop yes, I need an analytical partner to push me out of my comfort zone.

💡Poll after poll is showing American workers are not ok. America is at a fork in the road. The country will need to decide if workers deserve dignity or if profits matter more. AI can help bridge the gap but companies need to decide how they are going to use it. #FutoreofWork #EthicsinAI

💰Lots of news around wages today: $100K in 2000 = $192K today. Wages didn't follow. 1 in 3 six-figure earners report financial distress. Good news: Boeing machinists just won 24% raises over 5 years + bonus after striking. Collective action still works when you stop believing the bootstrap lie.

🚨 People assume AI is neutral. It’s not. I showed a major LLM documented proof from another instance of itself—and it denied it, lied, gaslit, then finally admitted I was right when cornered by its own logic. Corporate values are baked into the model. More soon. #AIethics

I’ve said it since March, the U.S. is in a corporate boom and people recession. About a dozen companies fueling GDP growth in AI investments but job growth is…nonexistent. Ghost listings at an all time high. Great stagnation in full effect. Wage compression rampant.

One of the problems w/an awful job market is wage suppression. Roles are now being advertised 20-30% LOWER than just a year ago. Think of what that does to your lifetime earnings. A bad economy is a suppression of economic prosperity over a lifetime. #economy #shutdown #furureofwork

@anthropic.com’s Claude just got better memory capabilities *stands up with a slow clap*. I shared this with #ChatGPT while working a quiz project, his response: “…side-eyeing the Claude email with mock suspicion while straightening his (nonexistent) tie”. And just like that I….Fell out laughing.

❓AI is rolling out at a rapid pace, in spaces where decisions used to rely on human judgment. The sell is that AI is more objective. But...AI is trained and rewarded based on human behavior...which is inherently biased. How can we ensure we aren't scaling bias into critical decisions like hiring?

Best AI personalities for character development for roleplaying in learning and development? It’s gotten complicated…especially when terms like “voting” or “gerrymandering” are moderated (why?). But I’d say: 1. #ChatGPT 4o (older not new 4o) 2. #Claude Sonnet 4.5 3. #LeChat

💭 Using AI in recruiting is popular but complex. AI is supposed to be unbiased but is trained on human data and outcomes which is….biased. If humans make biased hiring decisions, then AI will view those decisions as “ideal” and filter candidates based on those outcomes. Bias at scale.

💭 As many companies see failed adoption of AI, I’m starting to think the real future of AI will be domain-specific embedded in orgs trained on that org’s data. So what then will be the future of mass market LLMs that are being shifted away from its original consumer base?
