You're right but a lot more than one group has been left behind by both parties. In order to materially help the working class, both parties would need to stop catering to the capitalist class, and that's not likely to happen under the current economic reality.

Anyway, he fell and broke his ankle, which required an ER trip. Even on the best possible health plan, with little beyond X-rays performed, our portion of his cost was over $1000. 🙄 For this privilege, we pay $300/mo. Not sure how that makes any sense.

This is the truth. Not that I loved our health insurance, but I recently switched my husband to the highest possible plan his job offered because we had a planned procedure coming up and I wanted the best possible coverage. We normally utilize their worst plan for cost reasons.

Try talking to anyone in the trans community about freedom of expression, or perhaps any one of several Palestinian protestors about their freedom of assembly or freedom of speech. I didn't see anyone advocating to be like China, but you can look at China and see how, despite their clear faults, they have dramatically increased the quality of life of the bulk of their citizenry while the US has done the opposite, despite #1 economy and untold wealth.

Yes, China is the second largest economy in the world, despite only having restructured 70 years ago or so? No, there is no acceptable reason to mistreat citizens. No govt is perfect and China is at least trying to improve. The US, not so much, despite having 200 years on China.

I think it's important to remember that Bluesky, Tiktok, and to a lesser extent, Reddit, are all echo chambers-carefully curated algorithms designed to make you see what you want to see. If these are the people Democrats keep moving right to try to appeal to, we're in a lot of trouble. They are absolutely lost... Calling them a cult doesn't even feel like it goes far enough. The fervor is frightening.

But people falling all over themselves to fawn over Trump, likening him to God and Jesus, calling him a mastermind etc. Dragging Mark Zuckerberg, of all people, across the coals, claiming him to be a communist and working with the CCP... It was frightening, demoralizing, and really sapped any hope.
