It's pride month. I post online "this character is gay, it's sad how few gay art/fics he gets, the fandom used to be gayer". If someone disagrees with a post online, it may be ignored or blocked. That didn't happen with my post. A gay opinion got labeled as biphobia, misogyny etc. Opinion haver, me, got demonized, my work insulted and mocked, people got "warned" about me. Among the insane deluge of things I got sent were the hate speech, death threats, doxx threats, and m/f porn (??? congratulations, great argument). When I reported homophobia and harassment, people gaslighted me and my defenders. The heinous behavior of this mob discredited them completely. I stayed candid, but polite this whole time.

I post a lot of candid gay takes. Usually they weed out some homophobes, which I obviously don't wanna have around. I wondered if this time I genuinely was a bad gay somehow, so I looked this up. Turns out, this's a cycle historically started by the bi people: gays/lesbians accused of biphobia (or misogyny/misandry) -> defense -> defense mistaken for attack -> both sides get hurt and traumatized -> biphobia and homophobia perpetuated.

All those people did was scare more gay people into silence, illustrate why we see less and less gay art/fics, and make bi people look terrible, which, ironically, opens the doors for real biphobia.

Who benefits from this infighting? No one among the queers. Cishet bigots thank you for making things easier for them. They're literally burning the world down, but no, fighting those poses an actual challenge, so let's waste our energy on fighting the other queers.

I advocate for MORE GAY REP, not less bi rep. I'd never even mentioned bi because I don't care. Not caring =/= hating. Need more bi rep? Advocate for it on your blog, raise your rainbow flag, don't tear down your neighbor's rainbow flag.

The violence against my gay expression became indistinguishable from all other kinds of violence historically committed against gay expression. All I could do is call bs, and refuse to satisfy the demands to apologize for crimes I've never committed.

Before screaming a label at someone online, think of how much ACTUAL harm their post did to you (being upset =/= being harmed), and how much ACTUAL harm your label might do to the post's author.

Framing this as homophobic attack against him is so disingenuous because the people criticising him are mostly other queer people. He's got a laundry list of bad behaviours over the YEARS that made people dislike him intensely. It's very telling that after the biphobic and frankly misogynistic comment, a bunch of people come out of the woodwork with horror stories about his antics in the fandom:

- Treats everything as a popularity contest
- begs for kudos so his AO3 listing can be pushed up to the top of the wolgraha list
- begs for likes because he needs his ego stroked constantly

- have threatened s*lf-h*rm over perceived dwindling popularity
- but refuses to engage with the community at large so nobody wants to support him either

- torched a friendship with other grahawol shippers because he's using them to prop his own popularity and befriended them in bad faith

- validates an anon on Tumblr that said that Emet can only be gay and people who ship femme wol with him are delusional and that Japanese people does not understand queercoding (which is hilarious because Emet was written by a Japanese woman and he behaves the same way no matter the gender of the player character)
- claims that there aren't many queer xiv creators when bsky, twitter and tumblr xiv fandom are overwhelmingly queer (literally, and these are the spaces he promotes his work in so he refuses to open his eyes)

So far I’ve read and heard about all of these in the last 24 hours. That’s a long list that has nothing to do with his sexual identity, it’s years of him being a terrible person.

-Being biphobic
-Being misogynistic
-Policing people's HCs on NPC's sexual identities
-Being racist towards Japanese people & Black people (the Barret situation).
-Anti Ukrainian comments (said during the whole Zepla situation. Yes she's an awful person for being a terf, but comments against her quickly devolved to being misogynistic & against Ukraine. He's from Russia so there's more to it I'm sure).
-This one is personal, but being verbally & emotionally abusive towards a dear friend of mine.
-Demanding that his followers & supporters keep sharing his work with self pity posts. He berate them when they don't follow his "guidelines."
-Being an asshole to an ex fan for drawing a platonic fanart of their OC with his. He accused them of
"violating" him when a simple "hey thank you, but I don't feel comfortable with fanart" would've sufficed.
-going on a rant against using alt text
-weaponizing his autism to justify his rudeness
-demanding that he'd be placed in a writers only list and throwing a fit about it when told no.
-Belittling people's OCs by saying that they don't love their OCs enough and that his is better because he's making a comic.
-Declares himself a "pillar of the community" when he does nothing to uplift said community, just demands money and exposure.
-Says he's one of the "few" queer creators and that there aren't that many mlm ships in the ffxiv community when, as far as I've seen, that's absolutely not true. He just doesn't engage with anyone.
