A cabbage, or Something. I should have learned kung fu, instead of ethics. Bees are good, bees are good, I believe that bees are good.. 2+2=-3 in Z/7Z. e/em

Honestly, basically anything starring Jim Caviezel is a red flag.

If Sam Altman, and everybody who works in the AI business were to wake up tomorrow transformed into a cockroach like Gregor Samsa that would be sad for their friends and family, but a net positive for the world.

It probably also bothered the Star Trek writers since they really wouldn't pick up the plotline with the alien parasites until an offhand reference in Lower Decks.

This TV promo for a first season episode of TNG petrified me as a preschooler. It gave me the impression that "Star Trek is really scary" a notion I really wouldn't correct until DS9 was on the air.

I believe that Jason Kelce can afford 16 televisions and a very large house, but "people are scattered throughout the house watching different games on different TVs" hardly constitutes a party.

There's so much ostensible comedy in the 90s (see also the third Naked Gun) where the transphobia is almost entirely motivated by riffing on "THE CRYING GAME" which was inexplicably in the public consciousness.

I was using Podbean, and I'm following "Are You Afraid of the Dark Universe with Dylan & Dalton". Is there a different name for the correct feed?

I have literally never found a new podcast from algorithmic "recommendations" but I have found them from like "podcasts advertising on other podcasts". I think discoverability is the big bugaboo of the medium.

@thepoduniverse.com Is your old bootleg Dark Universe saga still available somewhere? I wanted to revisit it for spooky month, and I found the new feed on my podcatcher but I keep getting a 403 forbidden error when I try to download or stream.

Most people I know who "watch" video podcasts will just open it up in youtube and tab away to something else. I think it's the platforms that generate the additional reach, not the video component.

It's spiritually related to like "when a video game inelegantly insists that the player is the villain" but it's less "you're bad/stupid for buying a ticket" and more "poor fools are just going to eat up whatever narrative a powerful person dresses for their consumption, and we owe them this."

I think what would be needed for the specific narrative conceit of DIGGER Is some humility apparent in the production, something that will never be possible with either Tom Cruise or Alejandro Iñárritu involved, let alone the one with both that has enough ego to blot out the sun.

Possible Cabbage 🟢 @possiblecabbage.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
The trick/sleight-of-hand DIGGER is trying to play would be interesting if it was in something like a $1.6m movie with no-name, but talented actors and an up-and-coming director. It is exasperating in a $200m movie by an award winning director and possibly the world's most famous actor.

At one point they, only obscured by the flimsiest of metaphors, turn to the camera to explain that it doesn't matter that this isn't funny because the hogs (i.e. you, the audience) love slop.

So I've seen it. It's a very good looking movie with some solid performances, but it's billed as a comedy, is completely unfunny, and is as far up its own ass as any movie I've ever seen. It also has a truly infuriating twist they instructed critics not to mention.

This is honestly the most I've thought about Craig James in 14 years (the last time I thought about him was when he got 3.9% of the vote in the Republican primary in 2012). Is he at the game or something?

This is the only film of its ilk that has aged anything close to gracefully. I suspect that might be because it was directed by a woman so it avoided much of the minefield.

THE APARTMENT (1960) is a rare comedy to win Best Picture, Billy Wilder at the height of his power, decades ahead of its time, touching, moving, funny, *and* the best Christmas movie. Shirley MacLaine is magnificent.

"Why don't people eat clowns?" You can either go with "Because they taste funny" or "Because cannibalism is a cultural taboo" depending on the response you get.

I confess I probably did not have the intended reaction to the Prince of All Rats as was intended by virtue of being an honorary Cat. Still, Light Fingers players are generally more invested in (unconventional) parenting than romance.

The jug for Minnesota fans is unlike other traveling trophies. It's been hilariously lopsided, but it's not like they can ever stop playing for it because it was the first one.

But one of the reasons that this guy got chosen to be Pope was that the Church understood it needs to deal with its insurrectionist faction "Opus Dei" (which is largely an American thing now and Leo is American but not of America), and Vance is unlikely to be spared in whatever action is to come.

Possible Cabbage 🟢 @possiblecabbage.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
The funniest part is that AI freaks mouthing off at the Pope is certainly not going to make him more favorably inclined to treat JD Vance's ilk gently.

Like genuinely a lot of clocks automatically update themselves anyway. So I have to figure the whole push for this is "permanent summer time really screws over northern states, which are mostly blue."

It's been like 60-70 years since the last "institution" that was plausibly cruel closed down, modern psychiatric medicine is more about "here's a nice quiet place for you to be safe." Give me the horrible thing that's going on underneath that!

Specifically he's just found out his wife is cheating on him, but has to put on a play about a man whose wife is cheating on him, and his wife in the play is his actual wife, and the play is supposed to be funny. It ends in a double murder.

The Gotham University team is also the Knights. Somehow in the next 500 years "amateurism" returns to college football and Booster got in trouble for betting on his own team to raise money to pay a relative's medical bills, a thing he could have just done himself if he was a pro player.

So "we're on the 40" implies he's playing offense, and "being eligible to catch a pass" means he's a receiver, running back, fullback, or tight end. I'd assume one of the latter two and it just comes down to "how tall he is" (TEs and FBs are "blocker/catchers" and mostly separated by height.)

Was it ever established what position Guy played? Based on his personality (and the whole premise of the character), and the fact that his backstory was established in the 70s-80s era of football, I would assume he's a linebacker.

One star. There's not a lot more irritating than a movie that thinks it's a lot smarter than it is, but that might be an ostensible comedy that is not only not funny but takes pains to explain why it's not funny. Huge swing- didn't make contact.

Seated for DIGGER and the new trailer for EBENEEZER seems to imply "this is just A Christmas Carol"(visited by three ghosts and all) so the early marketing for this now makes no sense at all.
