While I was at the Lucas Museum yesterday, just standing next to a side hallway, a fairly old maintenance man approached. He looked over the top of his glasses at me, kind of suspiciously. I gave him a nod, to kind of allay any suspicions, and as he passed, he said "hello, champion," and moved on.🤨

Religion-related monster for a fantasy game: It’s like a demonic imp, but related to a NG deity. It resides on the ceilings of churches, but you have to paint murals of interesting pastoral scenes there for it to frolic around on, or it causes mischief.

I went to my favorite taco place & my favorite taco, beef brisket, was no longer on menu. Told the server I was going to miss them. Order other tacos. The server comes back, big smile, with a plate and one of those cake sparklers. "We had brisket left!" It became an event. She was as happy as I was.

Really wish I could have gotten into a Mothership game at GenCon this year, so I could see what it’s like to play and to GM. So much good press. I love horror, and the rules looked really interesting, but I’d read that many of those interesting rules never came into play. Maybe next year.

Checked out LFG Con, in Burbank, today. It’s a very professional con with great staff. It’s just so small. After my final GenCon next year, I’d really like to find a decent sized gaming con within driving distance of L.A., but I have a bad feeling I won’t.

The games I played at GenCon this year just served to remind me how seldom I’ve played instead of run games over the past decades. The d20s I have in my dice bag are the old ones that are numbered 1-10 twice… you had to color in one set of number to designate the teens.
