Something tells me this movie trivia game was made with AI…
A film-themed trivia card asking, “In Police Academy, what is the nickname for the tallest tower?” The options are A – High Tower, B – Small Tower, and C – Academy Tower, with A – High Tower highlighted in red as the correct answer.

When you can’t turn off your filmmaking brain and ruin documentaries for yourself: ”Wait, those two shots were not shot at the same time. Is he responding to something else? Did they do separate takes? I can see her mouth moving in his shot but she’s not speaking”

In Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ronald Lacey didn’t know his face was going to melt and his reaction is genuine. I love learning film trivia on social media!

I misread the headline as one movie and got very excited for a moment…

I recently tripped and fell while running. I mentioned this in a WhatsApp conversation and joked that I’m too old to run at 45. Now I’m getting ads like this…

Two-panel black-and-white comic titled “Psychopaths in movies.” Left panel caption: “Before main character figures it out:” a smiling man says, “I’m Mr Normal just doing normal things normally.” Right panel caption: “1 second after main character figures it out:” the same man, now wide-eyed and frantic, shouts “Eek ook!” and “I kill you with spoon,” while holding up a spoon and wearing underpants on his head.

The last three Spanish films I’ve seen; The Coffee Table, Kidnapped, and Cell 211 have all been so incredibly bleak. Spain are you ok?

Most disturbing film watched: Kidnapped (2010). Brutal and bleak watch. Some impressive technical feats like the long unbroken takes and a head smash that almost rivals Irreversible. But man, you just feel bad after watching.

When you record a long YouTube video and don’t notice that the overhead mic is slowly sagging into frame so you have to reshoot it… 😞

I found what appears to be a production still where you can see there’s no background in the mirror, only black, so it was probably done because there was no set back there.

Very puzzled by this bit in ”The Spiral Staircase”. She’s standing in front of a mirror but in the wide shots it’s clearly not a mirror but a flat picture (without her reflection). Very obvious when camera moves. What could be the reason for this?

If you didn’t get that Bogart is evil in ”The Petrified Forest” the way they frame him against the background may give some subtle hints…

The thing about mixing sound on a great stage is that you know you’ll never hear the movie sounding this good again.

Wait, Andrew Keir turned 41 years old while shooting Quatermass and the Pit?! Professor Quatermass is a year YOUNGER than me? But he’s an old man. Oh no…

She and the team were fantastic! I kept my ideas pretty loose and mostly just let them do their magic. Really loved Louise’s idea to take inspiration from ancient Greek theater masks for the minions. For Shazam I wanted to try and go a bit more modern this time since we went old school in the 1st.

Today’s comics haul. My favorite thing is to take chances on some comics from the small indie/self published section. It’s nice to be surprised. Especially with really indie comics where you can get unfiltered and unique voices straight from the source. It gets weird sometimes.
Comic books on the floor. Titles: The Envoy and the Warrior, Tombs, The He-Man Effect, You are revolting, Superliked, Covid Cop, The Last Payphone in New York, River’s Edge.

Watching older sci-fi movies that take place now is so disappointing. Sure, they got the dystopia right but where’s all the cool sci-fi stuff we were promised? (No Escape, 1994)
