What a finish! Let's talk September 2026. Two things before I launch into the recap. First, a number of milestones were passed this month. As of this month we have over 10,000 tracks, over 300 hours worth of music, and over 5,000 top tracks! Second, we're now only one month away from the service's

A statistics sheet for the Nintendo Music service as of September 30th 2026. The service has 143 soundtracks plus 10 Special Releases, a total of 10,719 tracks and a cumulative length of 304 hours and 7 minutes. There are 5,025 top tracks and 6,492 extendable tracks. 4,777 tracks spanning 127 hours and 17 minutes have been added in Year 2 (the period from November 1st 2025 to October 31st 2026) thus far, while 3,890 tracks spanning 104 hours and 14 minutes have been added in 2026 thus far.

It appears that at least some Virtual Boy games can now appear in the "Your games" section on Nintendo Music if you've played them on Nintendo Classics. Not sure to what extent since I've definitely booted up Wario Land but it doesn't seem to appear in my list.

Regarding the issue with Nintendo Music image quality, I have been informed about a different parameter that continues to allow for getting the images in high quality. Please note that it will take me some time to fully update the Nintendo Music Image Database with working links.

It appears that the endpoint for Nintendo Music images no longer accepts invalid parameters, meaning the current method to obtain high quality PNG versions no longer works. I will investigate options for future additions, but for now you can refer to the image archive below to get existing images.

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] You can now toggle Handheld Mode Boost from Quick Settings (the menu that appears when you hold the HOME button) in version 23.0.0. This is disabled by default. Enable it in Settings ➡️ System ➡️ Nintendo Switch Software Handling.

The "Your games" section on Nintendo Music's Search page can now display all featured games which are playable via the Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Classics app on Nintendo Switch 2. Previously, only The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker could appear. Thank you to Swampasaur for informing me.

Nintendo Music on Android has been updated to version 1.7.1, bringing it to the same version as iOS. According to the support site, this resolves playback issues on certain devices. Additionally, the web app has been updated to version 1.3.0. I have not identified any changes there as of yet.

August 2026 is done and dusted! Notably, we're now officially done with Mario Kart World updates for the time being, but it ended off on a high note with arrangements from Mario Kart 8 / Deluxe and some neat bonus tracks. The month otherwise started off with the surprise early addition of (1/7)

A statistics sheet for the Nintendo Music service as of August 31st 2026. The service has 140 soundtracks plus 9 Special Releases, a total of 9,932 tracks and a cumulative length of 293 hours and 52 minutes. There are 4,473 top tracks and 6,251 extendable tracks. 3,990 tracks spanning 117 hours and 2 minutes have been added in Year 2 (the period from November 1st 2025 to October 31st 2026) thus far, while 3,103 tracks spanning 93 hours and 59 minutes have been added in 2026 thus far.

The two "Yearly additions" sheets on the Nintendo Music Information Database now split up the "Soundtracks with tracks added" section between actually new games, existing games which received updates, and Special Releases. Probably should've done this ages ago lol, but oh well.
