TONIGHT! 🌩 ☠️ Back to The Lab hosts Vampire Hunter! Did you know this was Daigo's first competitive game? A Capcom classic with a less dizzying pace than Vampire Savior, but with the same characters and strong offense. Check it out on twitch.tv/TheCommunity... Register at challonge.com/CL_VHunt_2

Vampire Hunter arcade poster.
Donovan, half-vampire and also vampire hunter, a man with a sharp face, holds one hand up with fingers crossed as if casting a spell. Below him, the jiangshi Hsien-Ko is looking upside-down at the viewer, one eye covered by the yellow talisman that animates her. Donovan is cast in intense orange lighting like a sunset, fading into a cold evening blue over Hsien-Ko.

SQXL was an awesome, well run, FUN event. Thank you to Shib and the team for making it happen, The Vsav scene especially my room (Kajoq, emptyshiki, Keychain), always cool even though it's not my game at all, @maxdoutex.bsky.social and @bonuslizard.bsky.social for the most memorable Mystery ever

SQXL Medal and event badge sitting on bedsheets. The laynard is twisted around so you can read "Durham North Carolina" on the left and "SQXL The Promised Day" on the right.

Close-up of SQXL medal, a silverish base with the white letters S Q and an icon of a stylized red dragon with 1 visible wing curled around the Q.

Close-up of the event badge, which reads Alchemist at the base and has art of several fighting game characters - Jam and Slayer (Guilty Gear), Seox (GBVS), Hazama (Blazblue), Teddy and Akihiko (P4AU), Justice (GG), BB Hood (VSav), and Riesbyfe and Sion (Melty Blood).

Winners Round 3 EXO Squad (MD) I was so baffled I forgot to get a real photo This is a game with ideas and I kind of see the vision. Very confusing but it does feel like controlling a tanky demolition bot, and how! You can lie down and aim your gun while doing that. lmao

EXO Squad title. Three bulky mecha with a rounded body, arms attached diectly to the top, stand with weapons aimed forward.

Gameplay. The main mech with pilot visible through the glass stands off against a slender purple enemy mech.

This one, man. The original shrug is really good! I don't think it's right to call whatever he's doing in COTW a shrug.

COTW Kim just kinda loosely puts his hands down while FF2 Kim gives a big shrug and tilts his head to the side.

tbh Nako in Samsho 1 always looked weirdly tall

ACA NeoGeo Samurai Shodown
Haohmaru is striking with the butt of his sword while Nakoruru blocks. She's about as tall as him. In later games Nako is definitely like, a head shorter than him at least.

Heliogabalus, Mirror arcana. An Arcana born from a swarm of ladybugs, it shimmers and shines like a kaleidoscope. The icon hows a round ladybug with a sort of starburst of gold armor plates at the front of its shell, covering the head.

You Smoke Too Tough. Your Swag Too Different. Your Bitch Is Too Bad. They’ll Kill You

Arcana Heart wiki screenshot of Clarice di Lanza's 4C. It is a low with 1 frame of startup.

Clarice swipes at the opponents feet, hits low and downs. (sic) This is Clarice's signature move. The fastest normal in the game (1F!), has good reach and is generally used to force your way out of pressure as well as winning clash battles on the ground. Not the best move to use at the end of a ground string as the untechable time will plummet, making it impossible to do the most optimal air combo. It's still worthwhile to stagger during pressure but be sure to cancel it into a slash or E attack to make it safe on block. The recovery is almost incalculably long on whiff, but you can kara into EF activation to make it far safer.

there are still Arcana Heart designs that idc for but a lot of the characters are cooler than I though, first impressions are crazy.

Clarice 5A. A nun in purple habit with big shoulders and bat wings at her waist level. She's flicking the air to create a slashing wind.

Elsa 5E. Another lady of the church, she wears blue robes and thrusts with a cross-shaped metal club.

Zenia 5A, a fast jab. She's a hired assassin in a dark outfit, with high boots and a trenchcoat that's open to show a tank top, red tie, and skirt. She also has a golden gauntlet with a pile bunker attached, but it's not being used here.

Kira 5C. A girl in a one piece swimsuit who stays suspended in a brightly colored slime, she's kicking forward which manipulates the slime to likewise turn into a big boot.
