Never been happier that I skipped a seasonal anime

010

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 16/07/2025

Its the first series I drop this season because instead of being cute bowling anime its instead trying to be Zenshu 2.0 and Zenshu is fine but I dont need to watch something like that again

I feel the opposite I been really enjoying this season and exploring new series I was never expecting to like as much. It might be a bit because I like cdgt and anime originals and this season has alot of bangers of those categories

“Bluesky is dying!” The biggest news on Twitter is a bunch of transphobes celebrating a 17 year old girl killing herself. I’d rather be here than there.

At least to give Game Awards credit they dont entirely relay on gaming fanbase for its awards (with the exception of fan award category)

Tbf the first thing could just be different translators for the English story but even as someone who never played the original game I could tell there are some cut content. I could tell these where supposed to be bosses but instead you had to fight these annoying key chain enemies for most of it.

010

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 26/04/2025

The events arent to much tio write home about either tho most them so far are just adaptations to drama cd and older Magia Record events so I will give them pass for now and wont fully judge until we finally get the "what if" stories they where promoting

020

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 26/04/2025

Im giving the game a solid 3/10 so far. Magia re-imagination so far isnt that impressive (especial since unlike the main series it feels like your skipping bosses and enemies from the original) havent played Oriko so no opinion on it so far.

130

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 26/04/2025

I finished main series story on Madoka Exedra and man was it a chore. Enemies go from incredibly easy to incredibly annoying and the bosses are insanely tedious. While I like the models they use for the dialog its shame that most of it is just re use of the original and I hate the re use footage

To be fair Toy Story series has higher regard to oscars than other Disney/Pixar movies. Toy Story 3 was one of the 3 animated movies to be nominated for best picture.

HEARTPHIALL EXP WAS EVEN A THING?! This game seriously has problem of locking features later in the game that should've been much earilier.

000

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 07/04/2025

I dont mind mgses and events being unlock on those episodes since its still pretty early in the game and both episodes are pretty easy to beat imo but why why lock Magia Record until THE VERY END OF THE OG MADOKA CAMPAIN!? Also Im only at like episode 8 (Ims tuck at Uhrmann) and I DIDNT EVEN KNEW

000

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 07/04/2025

Hot take they should be available from the beginning of the game (at least Magia Record)

I guess releasing 10 dubs is kinda neat but other than that Amazon Prime has not gotten single anime licenses that its gotten much attention to there platform. Even Hulu/Disney + has better lineup

Girls Band Cry has gotten a bunch of concerts, tons of merch,2 recap movies coming later this years, mobile game in development and its widely considered as amazing by many of the anime communitu Jellyfish only gets like low quality collabs and its only remembered for its poor handling at the end

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 27/02/2025

I dont read Yotsuba but Im surprise there revealing Osaka part of the same universe just recently this sounds like something it would be reveal much earlier in the story considering how old Yotsuba is.

PokerFacecat @pokerfacecat.bsky.social · 24/02/2025

At least it was easier to get content on Tik tok. I was struggling to get even 1 Girl Band Cry content during its run even the seasonal watchers but even tho season watcher also ignoring Ave Mujica I was able to get more vids on edit and memes so Im able to interract with are small circle

Cinephiles watch a 6/10 movie and will champion it for the rest of their lives. Gamers™ play an 8/10 video game and deem it garbage that only shills like. This is because Gamers™ are unsophisticated morons who don't understand or appreciate the very art form they chose to consume

On the one hand I'm super excited about this, but on the other I can't help but feel a bit worried the series might lose some of what made it special in switching directors I'm going to remain optimistic that the new director will bring their own experimental creativity to the series though
