If this is true, then clearly Trudeau did not "cave". Trump did. Breathtaking incompetence.

I know someone who works for a US senator. She's waaaay low down and rarely actually even sees him. But she said that Chuck Grassley and Ted Cruz both were upset at the way that their states were being specifically targeted by Canada and they went to Trump to tell him. She didn't know exactly which products would have been targeted in each state. I really think it's smart how Canada tried to target their response. If they had imposed tariffs on California wine, for example, I don't think Trump would have cared.

In my humble estimation; whatever went wrong, went wrong pretty much in the last couple of weeks. The dip, here, on Nov 1, rebounded. That's when Trump team insiders started to feel more confident. Maybe it was a measured change in sentiment, due to the late Trump team ad-blitz?
