Trying to come back to Bluesky now! First journey back is a lovely trip to Leeds with 91107 'Skyfall' providing the power. Very enjoyable ride so far, glad I could get a propper ride on an IC225 set before likely withdrawl next year.

Two Class 47s in three days at Hadley Wood! First was 47727 with extraordinary clag hauling 379030 on 5Q35 Worksop Receptions to Hornsey Depot. Then today came 47832 on "Thunderbird" duty after rescuing a stranded Class 717 unit from Drayton Park.

An electrical failure in the Finsbury Park area, affected trains all through the second half of the morning today, and this Class 717 unit in particular found itself stranded. After waiting for over four hours, it was rescued and 'wrong roaded' back to Hornsey Depot under 1Z99. And soon after, the locomotive returned back northwards on 0Z99 passing Hadley Wood at 14:40.

Lastly, I had the idea to get out at Bethnal Green instead. It was a pleasure to spend half-an-hour there and it came with some impressive videos in the low-lying evening sun! Something surprising, was 1P57 Norwich - London Liverpool Street, formed of three Class 755 units making up 11-cars!

It was then a quick visit to Liverpool Street's sub-surface platforms to photograph a gorgeous old signal box looking building at the western end. Somehow, I don't think I've ever noticed it standing there!

I then visited Acton Central for the first time. Through Acton Central at only 5 minutes late came the second Aventra drag with 69010 pulling 701508 on 5Q90 Eastleigh Depot to Derby Litchurch Lane, and there was plenty of time to spot Class 378 while I was there.

Thanks! Luckily for me most of the Valley Lines are open, just Caerphilly to Rhymney is shut for installing OHLE. Sadly I didn't make it to Newport, though I did pass Grangetown to and from Penarth. Hopefully, we'd get to return before the Sprinters go.

[1] On the day of coming up, there was a brief stop off at Toton Yard to catch a glimpse of a couple of freight moves and the largely futureless line of Class 60 locomotives. One service in particular was a surprise as it came out from behind the trees going backwards with the wagons coming first!

Hello, to mark one year since my YouTube upload, I've briefly come out of my break to put together a video focused on some of the steam, diesel and electric loco-hauled trains that have traversed the Hertford Loop in the last 6 months. Thank you for the support on all platforms over the past year!

Class 91114 + DVT 82222 running the diverted 1D15 London King's Cross - Leeds due to major engineering works on the mainline. 09/02/2025.

Class 66718 hauling 6M03 Foxton Sidings - Willesden Euroterminal, slightly delayed due to a tract defect speed restriction at Hertford North. 02/05/2025.

Early running Class 67006 + 67024 on 1Z09 Stamford - London Victoria, interestingly, this train was mostly unaffected by the aforementioned Hertford speed restriction. 02/05/2025.

[3] Finally, a rush to Finsbury Park and the chaos of Great Northern's peak stopping patterns. Even nearly missed the Class 153, with the original idea to see its reversal at Hornsey K440. However, the tight timeframe meant a hasty bail out at Harringay as the unit was crawling over the flyover!
