Okay, hot take but this gun fucks. It was a better support weapon than the BAR for sure, and the main reason the Americans had a ton of jams was they rechambered them into 30-06 which had a different bullet shape which caused feeding issues. Honestly a pretty good gun if used as intended.

I have an important caveat: some folk are prohibited from carrying guns and can't do certain community defense roles. As you say, moral doesn't mean legal, but you can't help from prison. I'm in that position, so I'm limited in the kit I can use and am largely restricted to non-combat roles.
