Most of the people I did see were doing in store pick up and returns. But also, the stores just had a lot less stock of everything. Like they knew most people were there to check stuff out in person and buy online rather than to "go shopping" and certainly not to "hang out."

I've been going there since the 90s and I have never seen it so empty. Don't doubt the owners are making bank on the rents, and people are going to the anchor stores. But the actual mall part was a ghost town.

I was walking around Old Orchard earlier this year and it was depressing and dead so idk if the issue is unique to indoor malls or the city. Malls have been in decay for decades and the whole retail environment is wrecked.

Enjoyed Someone's Watching Me! on Criterion. I accidentally took 3 Zyrtec (meant to take 1 and 2 Advil but realized I'd grabbed the same bottle twice) and am pretty high out of my mind so I'm not sure if I hallucinated the line about dwarves. Also on my walk I discovered a new pottery studio has opened a block from Artmakers Outpost. Hard to overstate how residential this neighborhood is, so it is very cool they are actively trying to build an arts scene here. alleycatstudios.org

I know I have Midway Blitz ptsd because the leaves are turning, the air is cool, the Halloween decorations are out, various small aircraft are flying low and slow along the lakefront, 2 suvs slammed on their brakes and did a u turn in the middle of traffic, and I needed a drink when I got in.
