I see nothing significant in any read out so far on #AI. This is from Xinhua.
Xi said that while China and the United States, as both major countries in AI, compete in AI, they have even more reasons to cooperate.

The two sides should leverage respective strengths in AI rather than guarding against each other, Xi said, adding that the two sides can continue to engage in dialogue on AI, exchange views on its risks and benefits, and work together to prevent the misuse and abuse of AI.

The two sides should maintain human control over AI technologies, uphold a people-centered approach and the principle of using AI for good, and ensure that AI serves human progress, he added.

The UK's Cabinet-level #AI minister has launched an 'almost' £100m ($135m) 'rapid AI R&D procurement' scheme for public services. It feels more performative than practical, but feel free to correct my gut instinct.. First the video, since I can't find Kanishka Narayan here, then some thoughts: 1/3

Looks like installments here with a huge chunk then conditional on Google and TikTok following suit.
Financial Details
The agreement includes a payment of approximately $18 billion, which can be used to fund youth online safety initiatives, among other state priorities. The payment will be distributed in annual installments over a 10-year period. Participating states will receive approximately 70% (approximately $12.7 billion) of the allocated payment over the decade. The remaining 30% (approximately $5.3 billion) will be released only after two specific conditions are met.

1. YouTube and TikTok implement a one-hour Daily Limit, Night Mode, and age assurance measures.
2. YouTube and TikTok each pay an amount matching the 30% figure, with half of the remaining funds tied to YouTube’s payment and half tied to TikTok’s.

He is showing the same respect for the Six Principles that have largely defined the US-TW relationship since Reagan as he has for his responsibilities under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum under which Ukraine gave up nukes in return for US-supported guarantees of its sovereignty and borders. They are:
The six assurances
The United States has not agreed to set a date for ending arms sales to Taiwan.
The United States has not agreed to consult with the PRC on arms sales to Taiwan.
The United States will not play a mediation role between Taipei and Beijing.
The United States has not agreed to revise the Taiwan Relations Act.
The United States has not altered its position regarding sovereignty over Taiwan.
The United States will not exert pressure on Taiwan to enter into negotiations with the PRC.

For all the bluster, Team Trump is terrified of the EU because Brussels' strategy to play AI lawmaker gives it control over whether OpenAI et al can scale to profitability (debatable at any rate). This isn't about innovation (and OpenClaw, cited here, is a security nightmare), just money.
