This game has been doing this for 7 years. Admittedly it ‘only’ has 6000 cards but… it’s a start. And none of it is generated. :) go.onelink.me/ulB8/9fbea6fa

I’m going rogue and doing my own dev diary. This is the kind of thing my team love. 😳

So… you’re just going to leave the puzzle hanging there? Noooooooo!!! 😭

3️⃣ Avid is going to be 14 years old next Valentine’s day. So we’re entering those ‘difficult teenage years’. Wish us luck.

Paul Mayze @pmayze.bsky.social · 03/11/2025

2️⃣ We changed our trading name from VirtTrade to Avid Games 6 years ago. We did this for many reasons - all variants on ‘VirtTrade is a really bad name’.

1️⃣ 14% of our workforce are Joes. Now obviously we aren’t Joeist - but if you apply for a role and your name is Joe, expect us to ask if we can call you Joey/Jojo/Mike etc. instead.

Right. So. I’ve been asked to share 3 interesting things about Avid Games. (Other than ‘we’re launching Wild Cards early next year’ - which is frankly the only fact that matters)

#Haggle News. Gold is being made! Some road-side stalls being supplied and selling to passing peasants. We'll have proper marketplaces soon. ooof! Happy #screenshotsaturday folks! #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev Reminds me of the "Haggle" scene in the Life of Brian :D

#Haggle News. We've been at a conference this week promoting Haggle, so instead of a vid, I thought a shot of early concept work would be cool, to show you where we're going. Happy #screenshotsaturday folks! #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev

#Haggle has felt a bit like an episode of Mr Benn this week (you know if you know). Drop a peasant into the serf school and abracadabra you have a serf ready to work! Oh and females, and hairstyles and beards... :) #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev

‘A’ bug? Singular? We’d be throwing parties in the streets… But yes, we often ship with ‘surprise features’.

They aren’t saying - we asked, and we’ve just had the same default response again. If they pointed to something we could show them the specific licence or commission details…. But nope.

After a third rejection from Steam for using AI images we’ve given in, and now say we use AI images. Proving the non-existence of things is beyond our reasoning abilities. *sigh.* #gamedev #indiedev

Had a meeting in Birmingham today. It was sunny. TIL Birmingham can be sunny.

Has anyone else been held up by Steam because they say you use AI Images, and you say you don't use AI Images, and then that just keeps repeating like an argument between five year olds? #gamedev

Holy Moly, I'm following 150 people already. I'd better say something. I'm vaguely responsible for 🌎 Cards, the Universe and Everything and 👻 Eerie Worlds. Both f2p TCGs on iOS and Android, with CUE launching on Steam NEXT WEEK! (Or when Valve approve it. Gabe may have other ideas.)

@wildmangames.bsky.social Hello! My quest to actually be sociable on social media starts here. 'Tis a modest start, but it's a start. While I'm here... got any games on the way? Eh? EH?!
