Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 8hLastly, at least for now, I am a sucker for all the "window with droplets" shots. They keep appearing, they are beautiful, and I appreciate them being in the show. There is some beautiful cinematography besides that as well. I am really into it. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 010
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 8hP.S. Ms. Desjardin was based with the punishment. I hope she stays on the good side. We need allies. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 110
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 8hAlso, I am pretty sure Emaline is dead. A ghost. She possibly killed herself after being bullied, cast out, and Carrie will learn it, and it will be the hard way. I may be wrong, but I think this is what's going on. The party leaned into that hard. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 100
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 8hThe cast is so great. Summer Howell is amazing, and Alison Thornton is superb. They are definitely the highlights for me in terms of performance. Samantha Sloyan is also fantastic. The show is doing all the right things IMO, including the present day setting. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 210
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 11hAnyway, cast feels perfect, Chris is especially so fitting, and I am glad to see Amber Midthunder again. Series is off to a great start, I might need some coffee to watch more right now (it's late here). So far, very good. I am all in. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 11hThe shooter drill. Impactful, terrifying, and awful that kids have to go through that. That it is "standard", "normal". It shouldn't be. I'm so glad I'm from a country where people do not have access to guns. This shit's inane. Fuck your "freedom". You don't need guns. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 100
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 11hGreat start! Fantastic first episode. Uncomfortable at times. Entering a new world, one you are not prepared at all to meet, is difficult. Kids being kids, insecurities and bullying being part of it. Unfortunately. The shooter exercise... Also, great episode title. Smart. #Carrie #TVSky #series📺 110
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 12hChips! This was fun. Ridiculous, stupid, but fun. Characters grow on you, just like they grow on each other. It's a comedy, and there is a serious movie version of this story that is terrifying, but this film is fine. Good time. #FilmSky 020

Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 05/10/2026No Sudden Movie! Slick, stylish, and cool. Full of twists, betrayals, and desperation. Just a few guys trying their best to better their lives, achieve their goals, or simply survive. All of it. Beautifully shot, great setting, fantastic cast. #FilmSky🎥 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Tornado! I had this one on the list for a while. I liked the premise, and the trailer seemed like it could be a good time. It is a beautifully shot film with few known faces, cool kill or two in the finale, and few nice/strong moments. That's it. #FilmSky #MovieSky 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 02/10/2026The Face at the Window! A cool little horror from 1939 involving a "Wolf Man", murders, and other evil plots. Love, romance, jealousy, and classism also play a part. An hour long movie that is palpably old, beautifully crafted and with fun story. #FilmSky #MovieSky 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 01/10/2026A good movie for sure, with plenty of great stuff in it, and potential for more exploration - I want to know about the aliens, they were very interesting and cool. I also liked the characters. This was made to have a sequel IMO. Hope we'll get it. #FilmSky #MovieSky 010
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Spoilers: The end is infuriating (I hate cliffhangers) and the forest part of the finale isn't as strong as what comes before or after (road chase is fun!). Also, one character keeps surviving what should be deadly injuries. Kept taking me out. #FilmSky #MovieSky 111
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Hope! A very interesting movie. Fun, bizarre, and getting the survival thriller perfectly. While we are mainly in town, it is great. The aliens are great too (though CG isn't the best). It gets a little wacky towards the end, and I need a sequel. #FilmSky #MovieSky 110
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Carrie! First time. Some fantastic filmmaking and acting, and when it hits, it HITS. I hate bullies and fanatics, and they should all burn in hell (ironic). Throw them UNDER the jail. Drags a little before the finale, but otherwise a great movie. #FilmSky #MovieSky 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Welcome to Raccoon City! I liked this. Strong set up, the small town thing works well enough, and has some interesting lore-building. It was good time. Real good. Though the finale felt like it ended up on the chopping block with side of reshoots a little. #FilmSky #MovieSky 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Mystic River! A great movie. Dark, tragic, unfair and unjust. But great. Violence, grief, trauma, and humanity at is most bare, most primal. Stupid, reckless, dangerous, twisted and messed up. And every now and then, innocence. Anyway, great film. #FilmSky #MovieSky 010
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 28/09/2026A sub-10 episode show can work great, if you have strong writing and a good pace. But you have to have those two things. Also, putting "villain of the week" episodes is usually not a good idea for short seasons either. Again, writing is the problem, not the format. #TVSky #series📺 010
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 28/09/2026They spent half their season setting things up, then cram reveals, twists, and revelations into the last few episodes, while still not progressing the story enough, which then leads to a rushed and unsatisfying finale. Or a cliffhanger that is then often skipped next season. #TVSky #series📺 110
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I have seen people complain about/criticize the 8 episode format lately, and I want to say that it is not the format that's the problem. It's the writing. Way too many shows with under 10 episodes are doing the "slow burn", but they are doing it all wrong. #TVSky #series📺 110

Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Psycho Killer. Pretty cool movie. Fun idea. A reverse slasher almost, or rather a hunt for a slasher killer. The set up is great IMO, the story for the most part interesting, it's just that it is a bit too stupid. Especially in the finale. Still, a pretty fun time. #FilmSky #MovieSky 000
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 21/09/2026What also supports Sinestro showing up is how the preview for next episode looks like there will be some introspection, fear, visions type journey for John. Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 21/09/2026A fine episode. This show has entered the "whatever" territory, where even when it has good things in it (which it does here and there) it doesn't rise above the weaker stuff. It is whatever. Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 14/09/2026What I don't like is how they keep saying Hal broke the oath, etc. but the show doesn't give us anything to support that. Sure, he's grumpy and jaded, but there is nothing that would suggest he is now bad, or not worthy of the ring. Do better, show. Support your claims! #Lanterns #TVSky #series📺 030
Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I liked John's decision in the end. It was where he was going, but I wish they gave us a bit more in there. Pavol @pmatula.bsky.social · 14/09/2026This show is a mess. It has the ingredients, but the writing is bringing it down.
