I know I haven't been around a lot - 2025 was a year. The crap was piled high, and the art levels were low. But I did do this portrait of an adorable dog named Lucy! . . . #graphite #traditionalart #petportrait #doggos

There is something so fun about swatching, its by favorite part of moving in to a new sketchbook. I love that you have a no-show sketchbook too!

I'm fooling around with alcohol markers underneath my colored pencils. The end result is on the left (alcohol markers and Prisma Premiers). Compared to a piece using the same reference in 2023 with Crayola's. #coloredpencil #coloredpencils #alcoholmarkers #artistonbsky #traditionalart #improvement

Pastry loaded with different fruits and flours compared to similar piece on the right hand side that was done with cheap colored pencils in 2023

Wait, this makes so much more sense to me than it should have. I guess I'm so used to feeling like crap, I don't notice the wear and tear drawing has on me.

It just stuns me what people can do with a simple piece of wire and a stone!

Still one of my favorite colored pencil pieces!

I've found that the beauty blender make up sponges work great for dark areas as well. You can buy them pretty cheap.
