It was kind of a joke, but at the same time I don’t think the nationality of a coach is relevant to their ability. It’s the entire structure and culture of Scottish football that needs a revolution - appointing a non-Scot as national team manager would be, at best, a sticking plaster.

Theoretically a yellow card for each and every one of them. Saw a ref do that in German 5th division last year. He later got upbraided for it by his superiors. So why bother with the rule?

Very entertaining and impressionistic book, which is rare for a pre-World Cup publication cunningly timed to come out just before the World Cup - a time when few people, paradoxically, are much interested in reading books about the World Cup.
