295. Ratchet & Clank (PS2) -- 6/10 (exactly one save state used) maaaaan I wanna be nice to this thing but I really did not like most of what was thrown at me around & after the halfway point. I'm confident it's just an acute case of first game in the series-itis, though

US box art for Ratchet & Clank for the PlayStation 2, showing Ratchet posing with the Devastator and Clank mean mugging on his back, in front of diagrams of the game's various weapons and gadgets.

I wonder about the alternate universe where the Dreamcast was replaced with a couple more years of the Saturn and it got more of the heavy hitters that consoles tend to get in their twilight years

I struggle to count it as either generation because of all that, I tend consider it a weird little transitional thing but considering it didn't live to see most of the multiplatform games of the generation it would be killed and buried in I far better understand it as a 5th gen console

Player 666 😈 @playahwon.bsky.social · 23h

it's a weird thing cuz SEGA already had a console in the fifth gen in the Saturn and the Dreamcast was having to deal with only being about a year behind the motherfucking PlayStation 2 even though it was still trying to compete with the first one and the N64

What if kill la kill was called shill la shill and nothing changed except at random points during the episode one of the characters turned to the screen and did a youtube sponser segment

294. Excitebike -- 7/10 (replay) this might be the only game where I prefer the time trial-adjacent mode over the multi-person race mode

Box art for Excitebike for the Nintendo Family Computer, showing two motocross bikers rolling over bumps in a dirt track within a massive stadium.

292. Sinners -- 10/10 what am I supposed to say to that

A poster for the movie Sinners, showing a lit candle with the melting wax giving way to negative space in the shape of a guitar, in which a man (presumably Sammie) stands in front of a Sun with a cross sticking out of its top.

I wonder if people complaining about the latter part of this game is why they thought to add a mode where the CPU drives the car in your stead

291. Gran Turismo 3: A-spec -- 7/10 the term "pacing" is not a word that I want to leave my mouth when talking about a racing game, much less a Gran Turismo game still super fun at a base level, but man those 10-lap races really wore on me

US box art for Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec for the PlayStation 2, specifically the version included in a console bundle with the game, showing a car's headlight at an oblique angle behind a stark red filter.

the most the Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo did for me is further hammer in how much I hate modern video game tutorialization and that using a whip as a grappling hook is really cool

999,999,999 is 9 digits long and all of the digits are the number 9 if you add all of the digits together separately you get 81 which is 9 * 9 or 9² and if you add the digits of that together you get 9
