60 damn years as a good and normal person around women and Mark Waid has to go “hey you know what’d be funny” Everyday I have to see that dress panel is a day off my life

I drank this new soda we have at work, and oh my god, it’s so bad. It’s like drinking rotten toothpaste. Whoever is involved in the production of Olipop is the devil

That being said, if you were to ask me to cast an actor as a man with a genetic condition that deformed him into having an animalistic appearance, with sharp teeth, was raised by a circus, and struggles with inhumanity, I’d have gone with Killer Croc as played by Tony Todd

I was watching Batman Returns at home, and it astounds me how good Danny Devito is as Penguin. I often forget it’s HIM I’m looking at, because his performance and the beautifully grotesque makeup work completely transforms him.

Woozy Winks

Who’s the least powerful DC character who could successfully evade Boba Fett at the top of his game?
(Personally, I think Lois could take him. If he ended up almost-killed by a blind Han, Lois could def take him).

I haven’t watched it in a long while, but I think I still have a soft spot for Man Of Steel. Plus it’s director isn’t a creep, so that helps.

Which do you think is better, Superman Returns, or Man of Steel?

It’s gotta be one of the common elements I see in modern comics art, even when the hero doesn’t have it as part of their design, and it’s a seamline/piping. Honestly, I’ve always thought of SM as one of the best hero designs in the biz, and you’d have to be a madman to think of it (in a good way)

Was Steve Ditko the first to design a superhero costume with those side-torso lines?

Yeah the movie is definitely bluer in some places. Joker and Batman BOTH look blue at points, it makes the movie feel a lot colder than it should I love this movie a lot but it’s fun looking out specifically for it’s weird flaws and inconsistencies that came from it’s uneven production

This was a fun commission to do. A cover recreation in my style with some added elements. Kind of makes me wish DC Comics would make a retro Lois Lane comic book series!

getting a little boost of new followers so it's worth mentioning that i'm tidying up the ol patreon, giving her little updates here and there patreon.com/hannahvardit

patreon about me text, it reads as follows:

Hello.

Welcome.

First of all, congratulations on clicking on the About Me section. Look at you. Reading. Learning. Investigating. You little scholar you.

My name is Hannah, I've been making comics forever and I've had Patreon for nearly as long. Neither has proven particularly profitable, but I continue doing both. At this point you might be realizing I'm not very bright and have never had my best interests in mind. Again, I commend you for your intellect.

On my page you'll find all kinds of nonsense. Comics, fan art, sketchbook pages, characters I swear up and down I'll do something with, then never do, that sort of thing. I've structured the payment tiers to be identical in their rewards, with a pay-what-you-want style.* Who am I to determine whether a peek into a sketchbook or a polished piece of fan art is worth, really.

A pledge at any level is appreciated, but you can continue to support me for free on social media if you prefer. I won't stop you. I physically cannot, I wouldn't even begin to know how.

*Except the NSFW tier, for what I hope are obvious reasons.

Remembering the incredible Ramona Fradon, who would have been 100 today. Trailblazer for women in comics, she co-created Metamorpho & had runs on AQUAMAN, PLASTIC MAN, SUPER FRIENDS, and a host of often gruesome DC horror tales, the latter which she called "a lot of fun." She died in February 2024.
