Today we voted in our municipal elections and the advanced polls were really busy with people of all ages. And then off to the allotment to harvest veggie, chatting with other generous gardeners - again diverse people sharing.

So true Bill. Everyday there are great stories of everyday folks doing good things for their families, communities and the natural world. And therein lies our creative power. 🧡

Yes. Personally, I tend to do more beach walks in the fall, winter and spring months. The light is always transformative.

I don’t wait around. I walk to my neighborhood independent pharmacy and book the first available appointment. In the fall, I don’t attend any indoor group events. I’ll be masking up to vote in both elections!

There is so much literature and oral history that demonstrates good moral behaviour through storytelling and factual observation. Religious dogma tends to be used for control and subservience.

It’s so important to take the time to read about school trustees. Don’t want a nutbar influencing the public education system.

FWIW. I wasn’t raised in a religious family but still raised to be kind, respectful, give back to the community. We were raised with respect for science and question what we did not understand. None of us ended up in jail. 😁 Quote from my dad. “Remember, the Bible was written by a bunch of old men’

As a no dig gardener, I understand the benefits of undisturbed soil. Wondering how this practice plays out during forest fire season.

I didn't mince my words. Alberta's anti-immigration referendum questions are racist. They are also a potential disaster for Alberta's economy. Last night, I rose in the Senate to denounce them - and to thank all the thousands of Albertans fighting against them. Please share. #notothenine #cdnpoli

Unfortunately, even here in BC there are some angry willfully ignorant and dangerously insecure voters. They are racist and fearful. Scary times.

A leaked letter reveals BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson wrote to the insurance industry and trial lawyers on Sept. 29, promising to end no-fault insurance. But now he denies he has made any promises. The NDP calls it a secret deal between the Cons and trial lawyers. #bcpoli #BCElxn

I’m feeling very cynical these days. If humanity remains to be this stupid then we shall go the way of the dodo bird. The hard part, of course, is the suffering of innocents.

Yes it is a big investment. I appreciate your input. I’m really quite appalled at the behavior of so many drivers. It seems to range from not paying attention to outright anger at cyclists. I’ve been screamed at from a driver in the other lane as I was peddling only protected lane. It’s exhausting.

Chris, I’m in Victoria and I’m a senior who cycles 3-4x a week. I’m a rule follower and grateful for the good infrastructure here. BUT, the regularity of drivers blowing through reds, turning right while on their phone, not looking is astounding. It’s crazy. Today I started investigating GoPros.

If you're a BC voter and think, yeah those Conservatives will make life more affordable or....I'm going to make Eby pay for calling an election. You're a sucker and once the BC Conservatives PRIVATIZE ICBC you'll be paying HUGE premiums. #bcpoli

I’m very pleased to have received endorsements from the Victoria Labour Council, which represents all the major unions in the region, and the Restore Island Rail Society, for my work in reviving rail in the CRD. I received straight As from the NGOs involved in Livable CRD, on climate, housing, etc.

I lived in Ontario for the previous pq referendums. The weakening happens within the province, an economic disaster. But of course a weakened province is ripe for conspiracy, corruption and manipulation by bad actors. My husband is francophone and has always been disgusted by the racism in Quebec.
