As cloudflare route traffic for over a third of the internet, I'm already trusting them with my web domain and everything else, so this doesn't seem like any additional level of risk 😊

I use cloudflare to provide a number of services, and that easy URL redirect is one of them (covered in their free service, which is nice)

Alex @Plane Sailing Games @planesailinggames.com · 13h
The ideal (IMO) is a static one that points to a URL which you control and which you can redirect as necessary. My convention banner has a QR code on it to planesailinggames.com/banner and by default it redirects to the games page on my site but I can easily tweak to other places (e.g. kickstarters)

I'm just thinking about web design wisdom from oodles of tests that every extra click before someone finds something means you lose a certain number of people. Seems reasonable that it holds true here too. If it's in the book, everyone has it. If it's an extra some people will look but not all!

I was particularly struck by this section in the results summary
RESULTS

We find that sycophancy is both prevalent and harmful. Across 11 AI models, AI affirmed users’ actions 49% more often than humans on average, including in cases involving deception, illegality, or other harms. On posts from r/AmITheAsshole, AI systems affirm users in 51% of cases where human consensus does not (0%). In our human experiments, even a single interaction with sycophantic AI reduced participants’ willingness to take responsibility and repair interpersonal conflicts, while increasing their own conviction that they were right. Yet despite distorting judgment, sycophantic models were trusted and preferred. All of these effects persisted when controlling for individual traits such as demographics and prior familiarity with AI; perceived response source; and response style. This creates perverse incentives for sycophancy to persist: The very feature that causes harm also drives engagement.

Secrets are scattered throughout the game, revealing that you aren’t its first victims. The game text, which was found and reconstructed by Dr. Cornelia Foote, is lined with her notes. They may be the key to rescuing you — and breaking the curse for good. But you will have to play again. And again.
Secrets, anomalies, and easter eggs. Anomalies flipped in every direction.

Mousetrap's framework is based on the Bakers' Firebrands. You alternate between mini-games and vignettes — mini-games that depict common interactions between players at the table and scenes that depict your characters in the fictional Castle Muldoon. Until your player and your character swap!
Immerse yourself in the game. Bring your characters to life. Cross the magic circle. Concentric circles. In the outer circle are the titles of mini-games and the Players at the Table. In the inner circle are Muldoon Vignettes and Characters in the Castle.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Some people (nationalities?) seem to get more hung up on “the rules as written” than others. It’s always been plain to me that I can do what I want with them, but I’ve seen enough discussions over the years that I can see why designers started including it.

I think it is really valuable, not just as a quick way in for GM/players, but also as a means of showcasing parts of the rules (or setting) that you think are particularly interesting

I loved the XKCD take on it here
panel 1 with a narrator standing in front of three representatives - physics, biology, and chemistry
narrator: Welcome to the degree-off, where we determine which field is the best! Physics, wanna go first?
Physics: Sure! I'd like to tell the story of Richard Feynman's manhattan project lockpicking pranks...

Panel 2
Physics ...and as he said "all science is either physics or stamp collecting". Thank you

Narrator: Great! Bio, you wanna go next

Bio: Okay

Panel 3 - close up on Bio with a graph trending strongly downwards over time

Bio: This is a graph of the death rate from infection disease in this country.

Panel 4

Bio: The heroes of my field have SLAIN one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Panel 5 - Bio points accusingly at physics

Bio: While the heroes of YOUR field gathered in the desert to create a new one.

Panel 6

Physics: ...Jeez, what the hell? I thought this was supposed to be fun and lighthearted

Bio: YOU MUST HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT STAMP COLLECTING.
