I continue to beat my specific hobby horse that this is generational. Boomers/Gen X are convinced GOP are better on economy because of vibes/memories from the 70s-80s. Millennials do not trust the GOP after W Bush and the GFC, Gen Z is having that same experience under Trump.

Yeah, in the same way Canadians' decision to largely stop buying US alcohols in a (mostly) non-government coordinated movement has done a lot of damage. If EU exit from US capital markets is even 50% as drastic as the drop in spirits exports, that's a bad time for the US (supportive).

This is correct and fits with the broader issue that reveling in being right is an immediate emotional catharsis that you often have to put aside if you want to engage in effective organization, especially in the context of anti-fascism, and a lot of people on the broader left do not accept that.
