Kurt Vonnegut’s definition of what makes something “art” is one of my favorites I’ve seen - from a letter to his brother in 1995.

People capable of loving some paintings or etchings or whatever can rarely do this without knowing something about the art-ist. Again, the situation is social rather than scientific. Any work of art is one halt of a conversation between two human beings, and it helps a lot to know who is talking at you. Does he or she have a reputation for seriousness, for sincerity? There are virtually no beloved or respected paintings made by persons of whom we know nothing. We can even surmise a lot about the lives of whoever did the paintings in the caves underneath Lascaux, France.
So I dare to suggest that no picture can attract serious attention without a human being attached to it in the viewer's mind. If you are unwilling to attach your name to your pictures, and to say why you hope others might find them rewarding to look at, there goes the ballgame right there. Pictures are famous for their human-ness and not their picture-ness.
There is also the matter of craftsmanship. Real picture lovers like to "play along," so to speak, to look closely at the surface to see how the illusion was created by nothing but an unusual human being, with hands and eyes. If you are unwilling to say how you made your pictures, there goes the ballgame a second time.
Good luck, and love as always
K

This affects MANY different disabilities, including ADHD, Autism, etc etc Mental Health charities like MIND are campaigning against it, this will literally "kill off" people. This will affect someone you know, we cannot let the government do this. Absolutely sickening!

A princess that went "missing", she doesn't intend to be found. 😈 Tiefling (Asmodeus), Barbarian #Dungeons&Dragons #DnDCharacter #DnD #OC #ocsky #Fantasy

Ceisio Rhyfel Breindal (She/Her)
A Dungeons & Dragons character, a young, red, Tiefling woman looking impatiently at the viewer. Her horns are long, arching upward & slightly inward, fashioned with a gold ring on each, connected by a thread between. Her long hair flows down her back, her bangs framing a single, shining teal gem placed on her forehead.
She wears a long, once elegant looking jade green dress that has been torn to shreds along the bottom, her lower legs & matching green slip ons exposed. She wears long white gloves, also worn & ripped, freeing her fingers.
She holds a great axe over her shoulder with her left arm, resting her right on her hips.

A hard-working farmer with recent ambitions to (finally) see the world & become a powerful Wizard.🪄 High Elf, Wizard #Dungeons&Dragons #DnDCharacter #DnD #OC #ocsky #Fantasy

Hanya Petani (She/Her)
A Dungeons & Dragons character, a young, short, tanned Elf girl. She has a soft & rounded face. Her long dirty blonde hair flows messily down her back. Her ears point outwards, curving down, thin & long. Along her arms & legs there are many small cuts & scratches, accompanied by some muck.
She wears very rough & worn out looking brown boots, smothered in dirt, her gloves matching the same mess. Big & thick red socks poke out from the top of her boots, a scarf, similarly cozy, wrapped around her neck. The only part of her outfit not a total mess is her bright orange dress, though a small speck of dirt snuck it's way on to the lower half.
She stands, shifting her weight to one side, an arm behind her back, while the other holds a large, shoddy looking wooden staff, spiraling at the top to reach a bright green gem at the center.

Star Wars fans hold Star Wars to a standard it has literally never met.
Peter, It's just sci-fi schlock and always has been, which is part of why it's so great.
