pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Doesn't making it 'official' just make it a name? 011
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Cis man here - I don't really recall it happening to me, but I remember seeing it with my older sister pre-teen, and my daughter and her friends from maybe 6. I saw it with my son to a much lesser extent - and it didn't feel the same, less threatening more encouraging. 000
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Oh, I very much agree - mental health and women are both badly underserved. My only point was that if the same risk curve is true in men and women, the cause is likely to be at least in part other causes (whether biological or social or whatever) than perimenopause. 210
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I'm not sure it can particularly be attributed to the menopause - that's the same age bracket as the highest rate for men, who are still ~3x more likely to die by suicide as women. 100
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 24/09/2026As a UK person, Hon (and Rt Hon) is the contraction of Honourable (Right Honourable), used in politics. 120
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I did stop listening to Matt just due to overload, so don't know if that still holds as his platform has grown. 000
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I know Origin Story isn't interviews, but you both try to give ideas space to breathe, and can be equally generous in understanding and damning in judgement. 110
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I liked Matt Forde for some similar reasons to your podcast - the long form interviews by someone understands the subject matter and it's willing to challenge. Most politics podcasts are just the horse-race, and the news is misleading snips. 100
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Out of interest, if she genuinely doesn't feel English, and identifies with either Britain or her Asian heritage much more strongly, is it possible she *isn't*? It seems obvious to me 'being English' is something you can opt in or out of in some circumstances, so I'm not clear on how to apply it. 001
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I think the 'giant bins' feels like generalised recognition that they obviously had a major impact, important works etc. But saying A is _better_ than B is a much finer and more subjective distinction. 000
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 22/09/20267yo daughter didn't understand the sniggering *at all* 110
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 22/09/2026My son and I planned a beautiful family trip up that mountain - there's a cable car, wonderful alpine views, a couple of nice restaurants. PLUS you get to see your mum's face when she realises you're going up Mt Wank on the Wankbahn to the Wankhaus. 3284
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 20/09/2026And all that on top of being born into the Royal Family, an environment which is itself deeply strange, pressured and probably not the best for raising healthy, well-rounded kids. 1120
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I just started RDR2 yesterday after going all the way through the Horizon games. And yes, I also punched my horse. And almost immediately we were better bonded. 021
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Oh no, I just thought about politics for a moment, and now I want Oblivion. *Luckily*, I'm at Alton Towers, about 5th in the queue for just that ride. 000

pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Is it that the questions aren't interesting or you don't have an interesting answer? Or that all the interesting answers have been done? 100
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 27/08/2026In theory, yes. But going *to London* for water? London water is absolutely the worst I've ever drunk, and I'm including lake water polluted by sewage in that. 111

pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026That'll never explain matchups - France smashed everyone until they met a midfield, Spain looked plodding until they could control a team set up to only attack. 010

pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026I recognise that Rice *wearing* 4 but *playing* 8, throwing Guehi and Anderson's squad numbers off probably makes this more confusing than it should be... 000
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026The pregame chat was all about Messi as their key man, the best player ever etc. And the key to countering Argentina being Bellingham and Kane. Surely the counter to a 10 is a good 6 - so Anderson. 100
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Ok, I'm really starting to see why @philippeauclair.bsky.social was so anti this Argentina team. It's such an aggro approach to the game. 110
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026That same moment 'they can fly now' was much more effective with the Dalek in Who - a single Dalek had just killed a whole squad of soldiers and they thought they were safe on the staircase. 050
pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026I thought Gunn had said it was included, but it's not exactly clear skimming back now - the character is in the DCU, but the Universe itself hadn't started then. pixie359.bsky.social @pixie359.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Yeah, but the relative importance could be revised - good focus on (some!) foreign affairs is broadly seen as a) good and b) a bit of a distraction from Important Things at home.
