“You’re going to bring back what was once mine, you miserable beast!” Felt like drawing my Viking unicorn with my fae character Lorelai for fun. They really don’t like each other. #art #sketch #digitalsketch #procreate #fantasycharacters #unicorn #Faeries

Lorelai (right) has captured the Unicorn Inga (left) what reason? Dunno but they clearly have beef with each other.

Rúnga, also known as “The Shapeless One”. A parasite that lurks in the darkest depths of the waters of many swamplands. Any who come into contact with it will have their sanity worn away. Audio from The Magnus Archives #reels #art #animatic #ocs #worldbuilding #creaturedesign

I’ve noticed that too, and some have an issue with characters having flaws that they will overcome as the story progresses. Apparently main characters can’t have flaws or anything nowadays it’s really sad.

While I agree funding is needed. The real issue is the current social climate we find ourselves in. Things are very different now than they were back when these icons we’ve lost started out. What really needs to change is our relationship with social media and how we consume online creations.

065

Pixelbirb @pixelsparrow.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Because right now we seem to have endless “fast fashion” fandoms and media. It’s popular for about a month then it’s immediately forgotten for the next big thing. Granted that has been around before the internet (bubblegum pop being one). But it’s so much worse now online than it was before internet

000

Pixelbirb @pixelsparrow.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Because of micro trends and the online world being more fractured into smaller communities we don’t get that same level of ground breaking, era defining icons we used to get. I think in order to bring in another golden age of artists we need to change how we consume media online.

Pixelbirb @pixelsparrow.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

There’s a reason most artists and writers have day jobs to help pay the bills, because until the day the universe gives you the break that you’ve been waiting for you gotta make ends meet. Though while money is one problem it’s the current social climate we find ourselves in is another problem…

Feeling perpetually behind, holding it together and making art despite the state of the world. Taking a moment to put something a bit nicer in the feed tonight. I've always thought of owls as guardian type birds, what do you think? #watercolor #gouache #owls #birds

Watercolor and gouache painting of two owls perched on a tree on top of a mountain, the last light of sunset staining the sky with deep orange in the distance. A glowing rune stone with swirls sits near the tree, casting blue light on the tree and owls. Signed Katie Croonenberghs, 2021 www.kamakru.com

Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.
