I’m going through cancer staging right now, so yeah, I’ve been a little quiet lately.

I’m not quite ready for this yet.

Well, thanks to my depression and social anxiety I have the survival instinct of a moth flying toward a lightbulb, considering it took me nearly two months to get those tumors checked. But hey, progress: I have a hospital appointment now and next on the list is getting myself to a neurologist.

I used this photo as a reference for painting something... I had some struggles with it. But I like the ink line version of it. It's more like my urban sketching style and maybe I should stick with that. 😅 #art #watercolor #practice

Sorry for all the rants lately. I’m just going through one of those phases again where life and somehow having to function as an actual adult human (lol), feels completely overwhelming. Here, have some birds to make up for all my ranting lately.

I saved a bunch of Echinacea plants from being thrown away. They may look a little shaggy right now, but with a bit of care, they’ll grow into beautiful plants next year.

I think it’s probably, like with so many things in life, the best approach is to find some kind of middle ground, where you don’t lose yourself but can still manage to function, even if only to a very small extent, in social situations.

When people think your problems 'can’t be that bad' because you’re masking like a pro… Meanwhile, masking like a pro is exactly what’s wrecking you.

Sketching a little, with the help of Raphael.

Damn I just threw my phone across my whole trailer because the emergency alert scared the hell out of me. And the worst part is, I even knew there was going to be a warning. Really hope I didn’t damage it, kind of need that thing. But it probably looked pretty funny, especially the look on my face.

I really need to sort out the rest of my winter stay in the south now, but my motivation is completely gone at the moment. I just can’t seem to get myself to do it. I really wish I didn’t have to figure all of this out on my own.

Slow progress. Where the hell did my post-con motivation go? Depression definitely isn’t helping either. Maybe I just need another con for inspiration. Meeting an artist friend in Hamburg on Wednesday, maybe that’ll drag me out of the dark swamp a little. #pencil #wolf #shroomwolf #mushroom

Unfortunately depression has me in it's grips again since end of last month. I was really glad to have something nice to look forward to, but unfortunately, the plans I had for this month aren’t going to happen. I was really looking forward to seeing someone I haven’t seen in quite a while.

I finally got my hands on the new Polychromos colors! I haven’t actually tried them yet since I’m much more into black-and-white work and sketches at the moment, but I already love them, especially those pastel shades.

Oh, I just found a few more photos from my stay at the sea that I didn't post yet.

Oh well, I restarted the whole thing on a separate sheet of paper and that's where I am right now.

I still feel pretty lonely. I think I’m dealing with post-con depression, next to post con fatigue. At least I had a bit of distraction over the last few days, but now it’s time to return to everyday life.

A lunar eclipse last night, following shortly after the solar eclipse we had 2 weeks ago. I was able to watch it from my bed through the window, but I just didn’t have the energy to grab my camera and head outside. So I might do some eclipse inspired art instead.

KDOG @khaosdog.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

So I got myself a new sketchbook with really smooth paper, hoping to get back into pencil art and do more pencil work while I’m on the road. And yeah, I also booked a train ticket. Now it’s time to pack my backpack and then I’m off to the beach for a few days.

What made me really happy is that Bloodi’s and my Memento Mori art book nearly sold out during EF! I’m absolutely overwhelmed by the amazing response. The few copies we have left will be available at Connichi @vorndessart.bsky.social booth.

Back home after an awesome con! Best way to prevent post-con depression? Have some friends stay over for one more day and enjoy a BBQ together.

@bloodhoundomega.bsky.social and I created this art book, Memento Mori, as a tribute to transience and impermanence, themes that influenced both of us throughout our lives. It will be available at Eurofurence in the Dealer’s Den.

So, I have three artworks in progress here that I unfortunately won’t be able to finish in time for the art show. My migraine is really cutting down my functioning hours at the moment and there’s still so much other stuff I need to get done before we leave on Wednesday.
