I thought I'd try out some of this new DLSS 5 tech in Farfield. I'm pretty happy with the results, what do you guys think?

Farfields graphical capabilities expanded using nvidias new DLSS5 Technology.

An inferior version is shown on the left, depicting a crappy deliberate art style meant to evoke a PSX Aesthetic.

On the right, yassified Bugs Bunny shows the future of gaming.

Every survival horror game needs a save room ritual! Resi has typewriters and tape recorders, Silent Hill has the red square and notepads. In Farfield, saving means losing yourself in the static 📺

I've taken a similar approach in a game I'm currently working on where I'm getting vertex colours in the material and blending them with the textures This way I can add detail directly in the Unreal editor using the vertex paint tools #gamedev #indiehorror

The lighting in Alien Resurrection on the PS1 is top tier stuff, it's up there with Vagrant Story for me as best looking PS1 game. It uses a mixture of baked in lighting on the textures, vertex colours to fake lights, and point lights where dynamic lighting is required (like flickering)

POST YOUR SETUP THREAD! I love mega desk, it's rarely this tidy though I used to be part of the strange ratio club but I recently changed to a single 4k monitor and a XP Pen display The MacBook pro is for day jobbing

Computer desk holds a 4K 32inch monitor, a 24 inch XP Pen Display tablet, an MX Master 3 mouse, an MX Keys Mechanical keyboard, along with showing a Herman Miller Aeron chair next to it.

There is also a PS5 poking up from behind the display tablet next to the PC tower

As part of the lil horror game that I've been working on I ported my endless terrain and spooky woodland generator from Unity over to Unreal. So, you can be lost and hunted in the woods all over again. #gamedev #indiehorror
