While waiting for Claude Code, I alt-tab between the terminal and a PDF book The book is called "The Book of the Dead", from Pathfinder 2e It's about raising undead to toil endlessly for you. I have never felt more like an evil necromancer commanding a braindead army in my life 💀

Tonight is gonna be Farendir Al-Katheer and Lujine Min-Mudaris wedding. And of course the PCs are invited and everything will be fine... Pathfinder Society scenario, played with Nimble rules.

This works really well. Thanks for the find. This will allow me to keep my speech local, and pay less credits to OpenAI \o/

I saw the Unix signals, that was handy and clever. In the end, rather than trying to work around all the issues I had with Handy, I wrote a Rust wrapper around Parakeet, so I could call it from the CLI and swap my previous OpenAI API call with that instead in my existing script.

Thanks, I gave it a try. It true that the underlying parakeet v3 model is very fast and impressive. Unfortunately, I can't make handy to correctly detect my keybindings nor paste in my environment. Something with my Ubuntu Wayland config prevents it to do so...

Does it work fast enough even if you don't have a fancy GPU? I have a custom made similar thing, but I use OpenAI whisper API as it's faster than a local CPU based whisper.cpp

I updated from Vitest 2.x to 4.x and now I'm having failing tests. This is not because Vitest is bad, it's because it **too good**. Some tests now run in less than 1ms, which creates some weird race conditions when I was using Date.now() to "uniquely" identify things.

J'ai le bouquin de STPo depuis Noël, et c'est seulement maintenant que je l'ai posé sur mon étagère et que je le vois de loin que je remarque ce qu'il représente. Well done.
Couverture du livre Atsemtex, de STPo, représentant un immeuble de bureaux de luxe, en forme de poing levant le majeur, au milieu d'une ville en flammes.

Pictures of yesterday's game, players facing a possessed adventurer in the basement of a museum, spawning a horde of otherworldly minions. Heroes prevailed, but lost one of them. Zayne, the animated golem Monk (played by a player) got overwhelmed by the minion horde and couldn't prevail

On a tous·tes une série culte dont on connaît les répliques par cœur. Mais quand il faut retrouver la scène précise pour la montrer à un·e ami·e, on passe souvent plus de temps à chercher qu'à regarde...

After 1h of character creation, and 2h of play, we ended when the heroes found the secret passage to the deeper level. They fought an animated statue, exploded a Shrieker mushroom, and avoided an otherworldly plant to get there. Will they be able to find the missing Blakros daughter in time?
Heroes walking slowly through a room full of stored statues. One of them is animated. View of the partially explored dungeon, including the statue storage room, scriptorium, library and crate storage rooms The heroes discussing their next move now that they found the secret entrance to the deeper level

Spent the day in React-land (not my usual habitat) The nomenclature is confusing. "Hooks" aren't hooks. "useCallback" isn't about callbacks. I wish they'd coined new terms instead of reusing existing ones with different meanings.

Just binged Andor S1 & S2 (yeah, I'm late) Acting and VFX are stellar. But the storytelling? The art of building tension through each episode and season? This show is a masterpiece. Every single episode: "Wait, that was an hour already? One more...". And I don't even like Star Wars 🤷
The Andor logo in weathered bronze/copper texture against a black background. The text "ANDOR" appears in large capital letters below the Rebel Alliance symbol (a stylized starbird). The distressed, metallic finish gives it a gritty, worn appearance that reflects the show's tone.

If you missed my talk at #DevFestNantes, I'll also be at @devfestlyon.bsky.social on November 28th. The talk is about how I built brefsearch.com to search through every scene of "Bref" to find the exact scene you're looking for (in 🇫🇷). Starring CLI tools, APIs, front-end, and a bit of AI magic ✨

Started a game of NoteQuest (solo dungeon exploring) with my 7yo daughter. It's supposed to be played only with pen and paper but when one has nice terrain and minis, one finds any excuse to use them.

I'm not fluent in DNS speech, so everytime I need to touch it I'm scared of breaking something. Thankfully, pasting some screenshot inside of claude.ai, I got a nice explanation of the flow of my emails, and realized they were never touching my registrar.

Just realized I have been paying ~70€/year from my registrar for a mailbox I wasn't even using (all mails where intercepted at the DNS MX level already).

"Special character", "Machine-readable". How am I supposed to know how a machine reads my passport? I can tell you what my name is, and how it is written on my passport, but I'm not a machine and I have no idea how one will read it... It's 2025. Machines can read a "é" without exploding.

#DevFestNantes reminded me how much I love sharing on stage 🎤 So I'm already working on the abstract of another talk Before I submit to CFPs, I'd love your honest feedback on the abstract. What resonates? What's missing?

Subject, Story, Slides, Speaker: the 4S of Public Speaking

How often did you leave a talk feeling like you wasted your time? Catchy title, but off-topic content, monotonous delivery, or just a dry list of facts with no storyline…
After giving dozens of presentations and coaching over 100 people at all levels, I've identified a pattern: successful talks rely on 4 fundamental pillars:
Subject: Choose a topic that interests you and resonates with your audience
Story: Transform technical concepts into a captivating narrative
Speaker: Manage your stress and enjoy being on stage
Slides: Create visual aids that support your message without drowning it
Each pillar will be illustrated with concrete examples and common mistakes to avoid. Whether you're just starting out or already comfortable on stage, you'll leave with an actionable checklist to prepare your next talk and step up with confidence.
