Since bsky is an open forum, we can't control who posts under some hashtags, to ensure you're only seeing the #DVpit feed try a multisearch of #DVpit + category/genre 1) All in quotes (no #): "DVPit YA" 2) Individual quotes: "#DVPit" "#YA" (capitalization does not matter when searching hashtags)

Well, everyone, all things #PitchDis have wrapped up from my end! The pitches have been deleted from the site, the software has been tweaked for next year, and I've replied to all messages that needed a reply. Now I'm off to get some much needed rest.

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 26/09/2026

One last bit of #PitchDis housekeeping for the year - all pitches will be deleted from the password-protected portion of our site by tomorrow night.

I wouldn't say attacked, but some people are upset for sure.

Well, I tried to post the #PitchDis wrap-up tonight but I don't think it's going to happen. Be on the lookout for it tomorrow!

0110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

...the #PitchDis wrap-up is getting too long 😂

090

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

I try my best to connect as many authors with as many agents and editors as possible, and I always strive to make it fun and easy for everyone involved. But there's only so much I can do. I just ask that you keep this in mind before getting upset at me or the event itself (5/5)

0160

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

I'm sorry if you didn't receive a request. I'm sorry if you had a bad experience with a registered agent or editor. I'm sorry if certain genres are selling better than others. But I have no control over these things. (4/5)

1100

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

What I do have control over: -Making sure agents and editors who participate in #PitchDis are legitimate industry professionals via vetting -Providing these individuals with access to pitches you submitted (3/5)

180

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

What this means: -I have no control over agent and editor requests or request rates -I have no control over the genres they do or don't request -I have no control over the publishing industry whatsoever and can't control what its looking for (2/5)

160

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

Hi everyone, I'm working on the wrap up today, but I wanted to mention something here too. Please take a look at something on the #PitchDis eligibility and guidelines page. (1/5)

#PitchDis is not responsible for agent and editor feedback or lack thereof. Every agent and editor has their own guidelines and system in place. Please check the agent or editor’s social media or site if you have any specific questions regarding their requirements. #PitchDis is also not responsible for agent and editor response times.

5121

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 25/09/2026

21 received at least 1 request out of the 30 pitches submitted.

010

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

We had 74 horror pitches and all but a couple got at least one request.

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

I've already posted quite a few. You can search the hashtag or my replies to find them. If you're looking for a specific genre or two let me know and I can try to give you those. We had 30 genres to choose from so I won't be able to do them all.

100

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

Looks like it was Adventure. Picture books in general had a low-ish request rate.

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

So I don't think I'll have time to work out the exact numbers, but bottom just by glancing at them memoir and picture books had the lowest request rates from the age groups/genres we had listed. Fantasy, romance, and horror seemed to have had the most requests.

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

64 were sent, 12 got requests.

000

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

We had 11 fantasy/sci-fi pitches and it looks like they all received at least one request.

100

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

I won't be able to figure out that number but I do know 68% of all adult romance pitches got at least one request.

020

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

From the requested pitches? About 30%

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

Good morning, everyone. After I get some real life work done I'm going to start working on the stats you requested. Today will be the last day I'll take requests for them as I plan to have everything #PitchDis related wrapped up by Sunday.

4140

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 24/09/2026

77% of pitches received at least one request.

Brand new #PitchDis stats before I call it a night! -77% of pitches received at least one request. Of those, the majority (61%) received one request. -Six different pitches received eight requests, which was the highest number received.

0314

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

If I haven't answered your stat question yet that means I'll get to it this weekend. Some of them are difficult to calculate and will take some time.

082

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

I'll see what I can do! I do know that right now memoir seems to be the least-requested, but I'll work on figuring out the others.

010

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

Not yet but I can try to get that for you over the weekend. Do you want the stats for the pitches entered or pitches requested?

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

A couple more #PitchDis stats. -83% of the BVM entries received requests -As of now the least requested genre seems to be memoir with 10% of entries receiving requests

1121

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

That's something I plan to work on this weekend because it's going to be very time consuming.

040

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

These were asked by participants.

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

If you have any specific #PitchDis stats you'd like to know, just let me know. I can't promise I'll be able to answer all of them but I'll try.

461

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

We only got two labeled comedy.

110

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

Only one entry had both.

010

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 23/09/2026

A few requested #PitchDis stats! -Only two entries were comedy -We only had one entry that was labeled both science fiction and speculative -We had five chapter books

160

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

#PitchDis stats time! I'll have a lot more during the week but here's a few. -698 pitches submitted -696 pitches eligible -559 people pitched -137 people submitted two projects.

0140

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

Thank you. I do, too 😂

020

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

I THINK I may have gotten the right email for the requests to the one person who had a typo in their email. Fingers crossed!

090

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

I also don't have any additional information beyond what was in your request. Please go to the agent/editor's site or their QueryTracker page if you need to get in touch with them, or their social media. Thanks 💜

260

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

I got to all the emails but I have another favor to ask. Please don't ask me to contact agents/editors, or to pass along any messages. We had 559 participants this year & truthfully, I don't have the time to be everyone's messenger. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's true.

1122

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

#PitchDis recovery period update 😁 -I've replied to all the pending DMs from Twitter and Bluesky. I'll start on the email inbox shortly. -A few people got requests today 😊

2134

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 22/09/2026

Good morning, everyone! I have a very busy day ahead so I won't be online as much today. And just a reminder - although the #PitchDis request period is technically over, some requests may still go out. I'll try to get to some stats later on this evening!
