Hi everyone, I'm working on the wrap up today, but I wanted to mention something here too. Please take a look at something on the #PitchDis eligibility and guidelines page. (1/5)

#PitchDis is not responsible for agent and editor feedback or lack thereof. Every agent and editor has their own guidelines and system in place. Please check the agent or editor’s social media or site if you have any specific questions regarding their requirements. #PitchDis is also not responsible for agent and editor response times.

Long overdue #PitchDis update! -We had a handful of requests go out this morning. -I haven't gotten to most emails yet. And the reason why I didn't update sooner? I took a nice little road trip and made some new friends.

Okay! So you've gotten a ton of reminders about what to do BEFORE sending in your #PitchDis pitch. But what about after? Well, here you go 😊

After You Hit Submit…
• Agents and editors won’t have access to pitches until September 15, so you won’t receive any requests before then. Requests will be sent out automatically as soon as they come in.
• Our mailbox will be inundated with emails, so if you email or DM please be patient for a reply.
• Do NOT send an email for any of the following reasons:
o Wanting to fix a typo in your form or change your form in any way.
o Wanting to replace one pitch form for another.
o Asking if I received your form. If you see the confirmation page, I received it.
• If you receive a request from an agent or editor
o Make sure the agency or publisher is on the registered list of participants. If not, contact me to verify either by email contactpitchdis@gmail.com, Bluesky (@pitchdis.com) or Twitter (@pitchdis).
o Research the agent or editor. If you have any doubts, feel free to reach out.
o Please follow any submission guidelines included in the request email.
• If you don’t receive a request
o Remember that the number of requests during a pitch event is not indicative of the quality of your work.
o Keep querying. Most people still find their agents that way.

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 03/09/2026

Here are some important reminders to keep handy BEFORE you click submit on your #PitchDis form next week.

Before You Hit Submit…
• Double and triple check your email address. Please remember—you will NOT get your requests if your email is incorrect.
• Review the entire form, including the pitch. Corrections can’t be made after you submit the form.
• Remember—you can only submit one pitch per manuscript, and only two manuscripts. If you submit more than two, any after the first two will be automatically deleted.
• If you don’t see your genre listed, select “Other” and type it in. Keep your genre as simple and general as possible. The more specific or detailed you get, the less likely it’ll show up during an agent and editor search or during filtering.
• If you aren’t able to honestly confirm the last few questions on the form then you are not able to participate in the event.
• If you’d like a copy of your form, make sure to select that option at the bottom of the screen before submitting.
• If you see the confirmation page with the link to the badge that means your form was received.
• Please send an email to contactpitchdis@gmail.com if any of the following occurs:
o The form doesn’t work or won’t load.
o The form won’t submit even after entering all of the required information.
o You didn’t get a confirmation page after submitting.

#PitchDis @pitchdis.com · 02/09/2026

Whether you've participated in #PitchDis before or this is your first time, here are some reminders!

• All pitches will be posted in random order. There is absolutely no benefit to being the first person or last person to submit a pitch.
• The pitch form will automatically close on September 10 at 8pm EDT and will not reopen. Plan accordingly.
• Keep a copy of your pitch. Many agents and editors will ask that you include it when you send in your materials.
• After submitting your pitch, you will get a confirmation page with a link to a participation badge. Just click on the link and right-click save.
• You’re not obligated to send materials to anyone. The request system is automated, so I can’t screen requests when they come in. If you receive a request from an agent or editor you don’t want to work with for any reason, simply ignore it.
• #PitchDis is not responsible for agent and editor feedback or lack thereof. Every agent and editor has their own guidelines and system in place. Please check the agent or editor’s social media or site if you have any specific questions.
• Make sure your email is correct. The request system is automated, so if you have a typo in your email you won’t receive any requests that may have been made.
• #PitchDis reserves the right to delete pitches for any reason, including but not limited to
o Pitching more than two projects, or more than once for the same project
o Abusing the “Other” options by including irrelevant hashtags
o Offensive, harmful, or abusive language
o Being disrespectful to agents, editors, fellow participants, or the event host
• Requests will only come from our official email, contactpitchdis@gmail.com. If you get an email saying you have a request and it’s not the address listed above, please contact me immediately.

Just wanted to show everyone that pitch contests get scammers trying to scam, too! "Pitch" doesn't have any books published. Nor do I. Please be careful with anyone who sends you unsolicited messages, even if they have a verified account (as this one below does).

DM that reads:

Hey Pitch,

{Redacted} here from {Redacted} Books. We help authors grow book visibility and sales through structured marketing campaigns that deliver an average 250% ROI.

I came across your book and believe it has strong potential with the right promotion.

Open to a short call to see if our approach fits your goals?

AFTER THE EVENT
Agents and editors won’t have access to pitches until September 16, so you won’t receive any requests before then. Requests will be sent out as they come in.

o Research the agent/editor. If you have any doubts, feel free to reach out.
o Please follow any submission guidelines included in the request email.
• If you don’t receive a request:
o Remember that the number of requests during a pitch event is not indicative of the quality of your work.
